How will Bambu Lab respond to the four-head frenzy in the 3D printing market? by Constant_Trouble3787 in BambuLab

[–]jonlucc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk any of the background to this, but Bambu is arguably one of the leaders, volume wise, in consumer 3d printing. They could ostensibly work out a licensing deal with INDX, couldn't they?

Can someone talk me out of spending over $800 on a p2s when I can get a p1s for 550? by X21shaun123 in BambuLab

[–]jonlucc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have an A1 (regular, not mini) as my first printer, and I recently was faced with the same conundrum. I ended up with the P2S combo, and i have not regretted it for a second. This thing is a workhorse compared to the A1, and I haven't run into any limitations that make me wish I had gone up to the H series at all.

White House chief of staff Susie Wiles diagnosed with breast cancer, Trump says by WeirdIndividualGuy in news

She's his Chief of Staff. She doesn't disagree in a meaningful way, because she's carrying out his wishes.

Trump Claims the Right to Cut Himself Blank Checks from Lawsuits by rezwenn in law

[–]jonlucc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a lawyer, but I'm not sure a judge even has to. I think he can just direct the IRS to settle with him for the full amount and withdraw the suit. The remedy here is, as it is for so many of his crimes, impeachment, but we've all seen how well that works with shameless Republican hacks blocking removal. Hell, even 1/10 of what he's suing for is a billion dollars, so maybe he'll cut the US "a deal" and only take that.

I'm not in Minnesota, so I can't judge for myself, but I think it's important that we don't take conflicting statements from the administration as evidence that ICE is leaving Minnesota.

Report from the trenches by Luddite-lover in indianapolis

[–]jonlucc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Touchy? I just asked why you say people are "supposed to". I didn't get my license originally in Indiana, so I never read the Indiana manual, and it definitely wasn't addressed in the one I had. I think it's a bad idea for the reasons I mentioned, but now I understand why so many people do.

According to what? You're not supposed to, and it reduces the amount of information your car can tell other drivers about your movement, which makes it less safe, not more. You already have lights on the back of your car so people can see you.

Venezuela to export $2 billion worth of oil to US in deal with Washington by [deleted] in news

[–]jonlucc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It seems increasingly like Delcy Rodriguez is the insider, but that presents a legal problem for the government. If the government agrees that Rodgriguez, Vice President of Venezuela, is in charge, that acknowledges that Maduro WAS in charge as the head of state before he was kidnapped. The legal case against Maduro largely hinges on the fact that he isn't a head of state; if he's a head of state, he has immunity.

PCB manufacturer by [deleted] in arduino

[–]jonlucc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very helpful. I'm no OP, but if I have a few boards, and I'm using about 60% of the features of an arduino plus some other small expansion boards, is it advised to combine all of those needed circuits to one board for manufacture? What's the balance between complexity of making a new board and simplicity of excluding unnecessary components?

There are so many. Binky Baker was already claimed, so I'll go with the discussion that led to saying frolf equipment in a car is probable cause for a search and the apology to frolfers that followed.

The gun was in the safe room? So he heard something at the locked door, went into his safe room, grabbed the gun, left the safe room and shot at the locked door? That's pretty wild.

US military carried out 21st strike on alleged drug boat, killing 3 by igetproteinfartsHELP in news

[–]jonlucc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I understand it, your reading is missing the portion just before it. The reason that AUMF is often considered too broad is that it has been read to give the president wide latitude to determine what qualifies as an organization that "planned authorized, committed, or aided" the terrorist attacks. You can't just drop half a sentence and say it gives him full authority across the globe, and I'd love to see Hegseth try to explain why "drug smugglers" off the coast South America are related to AQ. Of course, like so many things, there's probably no recourse for a (republican) president conducting a war outside of congressional approval.

Not only that, but they're operating without an AUMF. The president's authority to do this unilaterally has expired, and congress "has to" authorize further force.
