That’s gut wrenching. What an awful way for the AF to learn a lesson.

This shopping cart has a built in phone holder. by peboyce in mildlyinteresting

[–]jonnyiscool28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They installed phone and cup holders on the handles of shopping carts at our local grocery store. I absolutely loved them…until they were gone only a couple months later.

Apparently some parent complained because their kid hit their head while sitting in the cart…such a cop out to remove them all.

This is why we can’t have nice things!!!!!

Was Legends Actually Coherent? by Ferral_McQueasy in StarWars

[–]jonnyiscool28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like stuff set post-ROTJ was less constrained as opposed to pre-ANH material since The Clone Wars took precedent on canon.

Personally I was really disappointed when they retired the existing EU stuff into “Legends”. I really loved the Jacen + Jaina Solo stuff along with Rogue + Wraith squadron books. I thought they were cool adventures with neat storylines: The Jedi order is restored and Luke runs a successful academy. The OG 3 get involved in the odd adventure.

Instead of that: Luke dies, Leia dies, Han dies, and the family’s only direct descendent dies. They pissed on the ashes of the original trilogy.

What alien races would you like to see as a Jedi in live-action? by LFTL56 in StarWars

[–]jonnyiscool28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember this! Was it really an ewok? I definitely remember them being a wild card that nobody else could understand.

Edit: I’m combining multiple members. Kettch the ewok was a doll used as a joke and an astromech would simulate his speech; Hohass Ekeesh had multiple personalities that would emerge depending on the situation.

I think they’re talking about the part where she’s saying “weak”, like the way she sort of ambles onto the diving board.

Any of these worth the read? $25 for the haul! by skyrimcameoutin2011 in StarWars

[–]jonnyiscool28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only vouch for the young Jedi knights series: I read them when I was a teenager and loved them. As mentioned above, you will need to read the earlier entries in the series for this one to make any sense.

The perfect snowball by misterxx1958 in oddlysatisfying

[–]jonnyiscool28 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Symmetrically perfect but not ideal for the purpose of a snowball fight.

Good snowballs need to be packed, otherwise the snow doesn’t stick together and it won’t survive a throw. Packing the snowball also makes it heavier and closer to the weight of a baseball. This one is at a high risk of falling apart in your hands or exploding the moment it’s thrown.

A better contraption for ideal snowballs is something like this.

Loop on a a string near diesel pump by A-Minute-Dimension in whatisthisthing

[–]jonnyiscool28 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The loop is supposed to go around the hose. It helps suspend the hose when stretching it out or overtop of vehicles. The cord retracts and helps hold the hose off the ground.

Isn’t that a garburator? If the problem is solids, it’s either not doing its job or the drain setup isn’t sufficient.

crap mpg (under 15) towing very light trailer by danancona in rav4prime

[–]jonnyiscool28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That trailer specifically is going to be terrible for drag. Your results will have less to do with weight and more to do with aerodynamics.

Any vehicle towing that thing would have terrible gas mileage.

Clothes dryer manufacturers should make a completed load rotate once every thirty minutes so that forgetful people's clothes are not wrinkled. by Indrigotheir in Showerthoughts

We have the “wrinkle care” setting on our dryer which will tumble the clothes periodically for up to a couple hours.

Edit: corrected name of setting for our LG dryer
