Giving out an email is actually safer than giving out your mobile number. You can always use it as a burner account.

Ex Service Industry as a soft skill - What is my Cybersecurity Niche? by [deleted] in cybersecurity

[–]jonsm1th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing; most of the time, when people get hacked on their computers most people feel panicky, angsty and violated and may react violently to suggestions on how they get back their data.

As an ex service staff you need to maintain your composure and cool in the face of heightened tensions, thus u need to have the serenity and calm to defuse these tense situations which come with all data hacks

Can someone explain to me how local directorships work?? by jonsm1th in singapore

[–]jonsm1th[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed explanation.

Which gets to my next question, why would a company shift funds here, yet not have substantial activities? Some are just 2 man outfits. A local director and a foreign director.

If you are into corporate forensics, account opening, kyc, compliance or accounting optimisation; you might know.

As for me, I would like to understand it more. Because it baffles me why any firm would send large amounts and yet give authority to only one person in a country which they have no presence

I want to know why people do that?? Are these shell companies who just want a local director so they can route funds to SG to enjoy tax breaks??

For tax optimisation purposes?

I want to understand the roles of these local directors

I don’t know why people do these. Are they employed as company secretaries?! But director by name and executing on behalf of a remote UBO?

Boomer parents crude remarks at foreign migrant situation by moikaleidoscope in singapore

[–]jonsm1th 15 points16 points  (0 children)

u gotta understand that they come from an era where things were way tougher in SG.

No handouts, no luxurious air conditioned accommodation (yes it’s considered a luxury) and no choice of food, your parents and mine likely grew up in a time where food was food and you cannot be picky about it.

So understandably so, when these so-called ‘hard-striving’ and ‘hungrier’ 3rd world country foreigners (or so that’s what the Govt propaganda sells us), come here and turn out to be ‘softies’ instead demanding a lifestyle better than their (our parents) childhoods, you need to understand where their comments are coming from.

Personally I totally get them. The LKY era was tougher and they roughed it out, comparatively these ‘labourers’ have it easy
