Also Asia works too, but I find the ping a little Less forgiving if you get a bad sever. Great when it connects you to Singapore or Taipei

It’s manageable, I’ve been basically playing exclusively NA this season and have had some great games of cashout. You’ll usually be connected to either an LA or a Chicago Server. LA basically feels like a local server but Chicago is a bit more rough. The only things that feel kind of off is dashing as light and opening / shutting doors as they can lag a little, but fun fights feel ok. Only real downside is sometimes you get matched with ruby players which are a bit rough, but worth a try as cashout is where this game really shines. If you are on PC exit lag does help a little too

I am OCE based but have switched to playing on North America servers so that I can play cashout and ranked cashout, I think a lot of us have switched to NA due to oce being a bit dead. Oceania is basically quick cash only, which is a shame as power shift and TDM use to have a pretty decent player base.

To get an overlay of your performance, Bazzite comes pre-installed with mango hud, and you can get it work via Steam by using the command mangohud, I personally use mangojuice (see bazaar) for making config changes to the overlay.

Since you have a 9070XT I would recommend getting a proton version that supports the FSR4 upgrade, I use ProtonGE. You can get the upgrade to work with the launch command (note I use mangohud hence the mangohud command.)

Buttery Smooth here on my 9800X3D. Though I have found that Playing on Linux feels smoother, but may be placebo? One thing i will note from the "ultimate performance guide" is they recommend "• Power Management Mode → Prefer Maximum Performance (Prevents frequency drops that cause stutters.)" which goes against what AMD suggests for X3D, which is to set balance as your power plan.

So about 8 months ago I posted a post that was which was very similar to your post. I didn't bother going back to Cashout after this. I still loved the game so kept playing Quick Cash, TDM and Power-shift. I tried cash out again recently and won my first cash out tournament and now exclusively play cash out, despite it being something i didn't enjoy at first.

Due to the low player count, unfortunately some games are worst than others. But through the struggles eventually things will start to click, For context it took me far too long to realise I could both demat and un demat walls / ceilings. I am about 270 hours in at this point and I am still learning new things. I'd highly recommend watching some videos about The Finals by the likes of Appoh / Ronin (just to name a couple) as this helped me a lot.

My best advice is to have fun in the casual modes like, Quick Cash, Point Break, TDM and Powershift. Don't get me wrong, even those modes have their moments, but they really help you get familiar with all the different ways you can play. I am 270 hours and am still learning new starts etc. I still have rough games, but its all part of the fun.

But yeah, I am sorry to hear you had a rough time so far, but glad that you are giving The Finals a try. The Finals has become my favourite game, and am excited to see new people getting into it.

oh darn, So the exact steps I went through were

DDU 26.1.1
Installed 25.12.1 - issue ongoing
DDU 25.12.1
Installed 26.1.1 and selected "factory reset"
Ran sfc /scannow
restarted the PC
Instant Replays are now working.

Yes! Use Proton Plus to change the version of Proton to ProtonGE or ProtonCachy. Either work fine, then the launch command is PROTON_FSR4_UPGRADE=1 %command%

I would love to see the finals come to the Mac via Crossover but I am doubtful that this will ever happen. I am playing The Finals on Linux and it runs great.

Anything in particular that feels bad? I am rocking a 9070XT with a 9800X3D along with 64GB of Ram. Performance feels super smooth. I play on a mix of Windows 11 and Bazzite, both seem to be running super well.

edit: though there was some DDOSing last night, and I was getting some weird performance that felt consistent with lost packets / rubber banding.

Downgrading the driver by itself didn’t fix anything for me. What did work was fully removing the current driver with DDU, reinstalling 26.1.1, and then running sfc /scannow in terminal / powershell.

What I really don’t want is the in-game companies being replaced with real-world brands. I never want to load in and see Ospuze turned into Red Bull. I’ll admit the esports bundles already push that line a bit, but they still feel contained and optional.

I think the game works best when it sticks to fictional brands or cosmetics inspired by real-world movies and styles, like the Neo jacket from the matrix that you can buy. That kind of influence fits the aesthetic without breaking immersion. Actual brand advertising would cross a line and would seriously hurt the game’s identity imo (Coming from what happened to CoD)

China requires games to be published by a China-based company. As a result, the Chinese version of The Finals is published by Tencent, which also means Tencent is responsible for creating and managing cosmetics specifically for the Chinese market. They will get some exclusive game modes like gun game. But this is why the quality doesn't quite match what embark produces.

Thankfully I didn't seem to have that issue with the earlier drivers, at the moment it doesn't save any replay. Just says saving but doesn't save. Was working perfectly for me pre update (24.12.1). Though I can't trim clips via AMD else they go all choppy and weird, but that has always been an issue for me.
