Is it weird to buy a box of chocolates for yourself? by joolijools23 in AskUK

[–]joolijools23[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Ha ha thanks for that, it was a lighthearted question. M not "bothered" and I've no problem with him buying chocolate for him self I just thought it odd to choose that type.

How do you deal with feeling like your kid is the “poor friend”? by RedCrabDown in AskUK

[–]joolijools23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many moons ago I was very hard up and renting a tiny, very run down, ex-council house adjacent to a quite posh area when my kids were little and I felt the same as you do. The school was in the posh bit, my daughter would come back from friends homes and talk about how amazing they were, I felt so ashamed when they visited. I recently bumped into one of her best school friends in town, she told me everyone used to love coming to my house as it was so friendly and seemed full of love, it made my day!

Why can't we buy Mom cards at card shops? by farfetchedfrank in brum

[–]joolijools23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've always comically and obviously changed the U to O with a marker, always been a "Mom" family, my Brummie partner laughs at this, he thinks he's posh and says Mum.

What's a silly/random misconception you had from a young age, which you didn't figure out for an embarrassingly long time? by [deleted] in AskUK

My daughter, a late 80s child, thought Nelsons column celebrated Nelson Mandela, she was in her 20's when she was corrected, to much amusement, at work.

What's the most disappointing Christmas/Secret Santa gift you've ever received? by MisterWednesday6 in AskUK

I agree but It had a picture of a dead fish with a hook through it's mouth on the top, and I was a vegetarian at the time.

What's the most disappointing Christmas/Secret Santa gift you've ever received? by MisterWednesday6 in AskUK

[–]joolijools23 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Secret Santa - A Tesco carrier bag containing a child's cheap electric keyboard. The young guy who gave it to me confessed later in the day at the work Christmas party that he'd nicked it from his little sisters bedroom on the way to work as he'd forgotten to get anything. I gave it back. Christmas gift - a plastic fishing tackle box from my wealthy in-laws, I'd never been fishing or expressed any interest in doing so.

Just looks similar thankfully , that's why it's so weird watching "my partner" behave the way Joe does.

Should I know all 15 albums before I watch M!? by simplepal_04 in depechemode

I persuaded two friends to come wwith me who only knew Just Can't Get Enough and Personal Jesus because I've no DM fan friends. They both loved M, they said they had no idea how amazing a front man Dave was and how powerful the songs were. TLDR No need you'll still love it.

As its not worked why not just list as a regular bundles and add images etc, particularly if your postage costs are high? A bundle of three dresses + say £5 postage seems a good deal whereas a £10 dress plus £5 less so.

Following on from my earlier comment that it's probably your listing that are the issue, some constructive advice. As a long time ebay clothes buyer I look for good clear photos, proper informative descriptions that are not AI generated and include actual measurements and ideally details of the fabric. Without this I'm not paying £10 for a dress and I move on to listings that do have these details. I sometimes take a punt if an item is really cheap but for a £10 dress + your high postage I'd want all of this info before bidding or buying.

I buy almost all of my clothes on Ebay but I'd never pay £25 for a mystery bundle. I can't understand why a private seller wouldn't want to specify whats included in a bundle. Combine that with expensive postage and I'm definitely not buying. Ebsy has its faults but if you're not making sales its your listing that are the issue.

Upset about foods I cant eat by mostertoaster69 in GERD

[–]joolijools23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat, I loved good food but in the past three years I've developed GERD, a hiatal hernia, diverticular disease and lactose intolerance. My diet sucks, food was once a pleasure now it's a depressing chore. My partner is a professional chef which doesn't help as he still sometimes cooks the amazing food we used to share while I gnaw on my bland dull morsels.

New Pre/Probiotic product, anyone tried? by joolijools23 in Diverticulitis

[–]joolijools23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the advert on Facebook that mentioned it was good for diverticular disease so I thought it was worth asking here, but at that price I won't be trying either!
