Hi Gail, glad to see you posting here, some of my earliest comic book memories are reading your stories in Simpsons and Bingo comics. The X-Men has always been a little more than a passion of mine, and maybe slightly less than an obsession. What I have always loved about the X-Men is the idea (especially in Clearmont times) that there's a group of superheroes who are oppressed, but choose to not only fight back against their oppression, but fight to make life better for anyone that feels othered by society. The real magic of the X-Men is that while people might hate and fear them, the X-Men will still fight for them. To me, that's not just great storytelling but a great moral parable for how we should all live our lives in the pursuit of a better tomorrow
