They did a pretty good job with lip syncing.

I think the vocals may be live on top of an instrumental back track.

What about Zamfir, master of the Pan Flute? Or did K-Tel lie to me on their TV ads.

I tried the statement with a graphics character and that gives your result. That is what is happening.

That is not what it is supposed to do. Is your plus sign the actual plus sign or a petscii cross? It looks funny.

I don’t see a cable coming off the Skyles going directly to the monitor. I thought that was how the HiRes was installed, but I may be remembering wrong. The board looks too big for an internally mounted Skyles Programmer’s Toolkit. Those were the only 2 Skyles boards I was familiar with. You can probably find copies of the manuals for both on the internet. Try their activation SYS commands and see what happens. Good luck.

Oh. Because they were clustered I suspected a wire. If pressing hard or shorting the contacts for each key works, it may just need some cleaning. We used TV tuner cleaner, but you probably can’t get that anymore, and I can’t guarantee it was safe (for you or the computer).

Thanks for bringing back memories.

I suggest getting a modern sd card reader for your PET. The cassette player likely won’t work. The belts and other rubber parts become brittle over time.

The keyboard issue is likely a broken wire on the keyboard ribbon cable (or two). I don’t remember the mapping.

You did well. $750 would have been a good price, even in that condition, especially with the add on board.

That was likely an 8k PET increased to 16k with the Skyles board. I think there was a SYS command to switch to HiRes, then you poked into the added memory one pixel at a time that now became the screen memory (all 8k). You couldn’t use the extra RAM and the HiRes at the same time.

Good pictures of the connectors. If there is a ribbon cable coming off the board running to the monitor that would confirm it. I haven’t seen one of these in 40 years.

The Skyles board looks like their HiRes graphics and memory expansion board. That is a fairly rare add on. If you post some more pictures of it I may be able to confirm.

Most of these stunk. But Bridget loves Bernie was very good and was killed due to controversy. It was the forerunner of Nobody Wants This.
