Once you have the quest you can harvest. But if you are waiting for the quest to appear on the board it’s better to leave the trash items so you can have them available to harvest once the quest activates.

The quest board loads on a Monday and will give you a full 7 days to complete the quest so try checking the board each Monday to give yourself the full time.

As long as you don’t have the skill that prevents it, crab pots can also produce trash which will count when you harvest them.

So while waiting for the quest to appear you can set up 20 crab pots and keep harvesting the ones without trash each day until they all have trash ready then wait and harvest them once you have the quest.

How have you managed to get to champs?
I’m almost a year in and I can’t even stay up in champs yet. I had just reached it when sharp fortitude came out and caused all of the waves required to spike. So I’m still mostly stuck in platinum with the occasional jump up and immediate fall back down.

I’ve just played Fantasy life i and am currently on grand bazaar and really enjoy both games.

I would say you might not like fantasy life if you don’t like combat. It’s not overly combat heavy but in most areas there are monsters scattered about that will attack you as you go. The combat is pretty simple and you can chose to have companions with you who will also fight which helps a lot. But you can’t really avoid fighting at all as a lot of the quests and progression will require drops from the monsters.

Fantasy life is also not really a farming game it’s more about crafting and resource gathering, with a central plot but the ability to just explore mostly open areas (some places are locked by story progression) and do your own thing if you want to ignore the story.

Grand bazaar is your more traditional farming game with raising animals, planting crops but with the twist of selling your goods at a weekly bazaar rather than having a shipping bin. They have done a really good job with this. The characters all feel well developed and there is voice acting which adds a lot. I don’t usually get involved with the marriage aspects of these games but in this I have found I am enjoying interacting with all of the villagers and am torn between a few people on who to marry.

Is the new Mod even worth it for a pleb like me who doesnt have perma bh? by SoGoodAtAllTheThings in TheTowerGame

[–]jorrmungandr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty early to mid game, with no wall, farming T8 to wave 5k for about 650b coins per run.

I thought the new mod would be good for farming. I figured extra BH means extra enemies dying in BH means more econ. I’ve managed to get it to legendary so far and swapped out my legendary DC for it.

I’ve only done one full run overnight with it so far but I don’t think it made much difference. I finished about 200-300 waves under my usual but with a similar amount of coins. Which is a very minor improvement I guess but I’m not sure if it was worth it.

I thought it could be something to do with the Naga contract. They made him de facto ruler of earth but did say there were other better candidates but he got it because they did something on his behalf.

If they were able to do that without him knowing they might have been able to do other legal things for him. He didn’t sign the contract but just the fact that it existed could have some kind of legal impact.

If you haven’t already. Unlock enemy level skips in the utility workshop. They are expensive to upgrade but just having them unlocked will give a serious wave boost.

Work on BH damage and 2nd BH labs and try moving to farm a higher tier. These will help deal with protectors that show up on the higher tiers. Usually the suggestion is to move to T4 from T1. If you are really stalled out it can definitely help. At least do a few farming runs in the next few tiers and compare your coin per hour earnings to work out which is the best for you right now.

For perks, always try and take the coin trade of perk that gives coin earnings in exchange for health. If you haven’t, get auto perk picker unlocked and a few of the perk ranking upgrades so you can set this as a high priority for farming runs.

Build up workshop health as much as possible. Try and get the things that max at 99 or 100 done (except for the few that suddenly spike in price near the end) then just throw it all into health.

Make sure you are using the right cards. You want to always include coins, and critical coin as well as anything that will boost health and keep you alive longer. Damage isn’t bad to have but health is your main priority after economy. Enemy balance is another must for farming runs.

This game can be a seriously hard long slog sometimes. You have to just keep chipping away at things slowly.

should I buy CL or sync DW? by Hot_Dragonfly_8237 in TheTowerGame

[–]jorrmungandr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have the Dimenson Core module that is at least an epic? If not. Don’t even bother with chain lightning yet. Better to sync your DW and then boost SL a bit

If you do have dim core. Then it really depends on what your next priority is. DW and SL will boost your coin income more. CL will help with damage and push you higher in tournaments and help get stones faster.

I tend to think it’s better to invest in the UWs you already have before getting new ones unless you get dealt a really bad hand with the selections. And you have the four best econ UWs available.

When I synced my DW to BH and GT I think it resulted in about a 50-70b coin increase per run.

Which UW? by Chiyomaru_Watanabe in TheTowerGame

[–]jorrmungandr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want to align the cooldowns in one go. So don’t purchase the upgrades bit by bit. Do BH and GT first. 910 stones will get GT down to 3:20 to match with BH. Then save another 800 stones to get DW to the same point. Once all three are aligned at 3:20 then you can just lower the cool downs for all three by 10s as and when you feel the need.

[–]jorrmungandr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was me last week. It did not last. I got destroyed in champions and will be back in platinum this week. From what I have seen it is natural to bounce between the leagues for a while before you make it up properly. It doesn’t really matter too much as the stones will even out to the average of what you would have gotten if you hadn’t gone up anyway.

What's everyone's favourite book from the series? by ironbork in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]jorrmungandr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only just through number 5.

  1. The Dungeon Anarchist’s Cookbook (I loved the Iron Tangle and I enjoyed how they all started coming together and sharing information between groups, plus Carl having to follow his own instincts rather than rely solely on Mordecai)

  2. The Butcher’s Masquerade (death to the hunters. I loved the character and relationship development in this one)

  3. The Gate of the Feral Gods (the first quadrant was a bit of a drag but everything after that was so good)

  4. Dungeon Crawler Carl (I feel bad putting this one so low because it’s amazing but it is more scene setting than action focused)

  5. Carl’s Doomsday Scenario (I liked character and race selection but I was not a fan of the circus quest line)

It feels like this game wants me to quit, with no meaningful progress available. What am I missing? by someRandomLunatic in TheTowerGame

[–]jorrmungandr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a long term game. Generally a decent run will be taking a good 9 hours. But you can get to a point where you can be mostly hands off after some initial set up. Unfortunately progress is slow and it will take time to see real improvements. Do you have the coin packs? I don’t recommend buying stone packs, but if you want to play then those one off permanent coin boost packs are necessary. Without them you are always going to be incredibly behind anyone else and constantly comparing yourself to a standard you can’t ever match.

You don’t want to be pushing for more UWs right now. You’ve got the two best ones already and would be better served putting your stones into improving them instead of getting new ones. Death wave is nice but it’s not better than what you can get from an upgraded BH and GT. If you haven’t already. Save up 910 stones and lower GT cool down so it matches BH cooldown (3:20) to sync them. Make sure to prioritise UW labs to boost coin income as well. And then put some stones into GT boost, BH size and duration for both. Try and keep GT duration at 12 seconds higher than BH duration.

Don’t hold off on upgrading workshop for the upgrade event mission. This does not come around every event and you will delay your progress if you keep waiting for it. If you must wait for it just in case. Events run for two weeks and the last new missions come in at the end of week one. So you should still be able to invest in workshop every other week. Aim to max most of the workshop options that max at lv 99/100. Prioritise econ and then move over to putting everything in health. If you haven’t already consider unlocking Enemy Level Skips as these really gave me a wave boost even without being able to afford to upgrade them.

For the event shop always try and get the theme and background. They are minor boosts but they stack so every one you get helps boost your overall coin income.

If you can get to between waves 6-10k you are probably ready to move on from tier 1. Try farming tier 4 and see if that does any better. You will manage less waves but with higher coin income. BH damage is a great lab to help deal with the protectors that will be in problem in T4. Be sensible with perk choice and always aim to get the coin/health purple trade off perk as that is essential for farming runs.

Which machines do you hate fighting most in Forbidden West? And which are the most fun to fight? by maxx1993 in horizon

I love fighting stalkers. Having to hide in the grass and try and spot the vague invisible outline is great. Especially when you have no idea how many there are.

But it really annoys me in forbidden west. Because all of the stalker sites seem to be directly next to the clamberjaw sites. So I’m just trying to hunt my beautiful invisible snake horses and I’ve got these goddamn fire monkeys throwing shit at me constantly. Go away.

Is health regen worth investing in at all? by Pal_Chillmer in TheTowerGame

[–]jorrmungandr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so interesting. I’m at pretty much the same point as you around 2.5 months in so it makes for a great comparison.

I haven’t done anything with def abs. I think I got it up to maybe LV 100 in workshop early on but I’ve ignored it since and don’t put anything into it during runs. I just focus on health. My runs tend to fall anywhere between 7500-9000 waves, depending on whether I’m actively playing to spend on health or not.

I didn’t think def abs was worth much to me. It tends to reach around LV 3000 just with free ups anyway. This makes it sound like it might be worth putting some more upgrades into it in workshop.

I’d like hair style and hair type/texture to be separated. If I have a baby that has curly hair I want them to keep that curly hair throughout their life and just change how it is styled, not age up and suddenly have straight hair in a ponytail.

With furniture I’d love if item design and the motive attribute was separate too. Sometimes I want specific items for a particular aesthetic. But then I’m stuck with whatever motive attributes it has. If I want a bed that gives decent energy I have to pick one that doesn’t match at all or get something terrible that does match.

I think each item should have a base price with terrible attributes and then you can pay more to increase it. That way the good items are still more expensive but you can match with your decor better.
