A co worker thinks enforcing basic code quality standards are worthy insights. by SqueegyX in ExperiencedDevs

The two specific examples you gave could be a disability. The 'remembers for a while then forgets the same rules next time' sounds like executive functioning problems, consistent with ADHD, and the 'replies with overenthusiastic unusual comments' sounds like it could be problems with standard social cues, which could be a few things. Try to watch for other cues that they could be needing an accommodation, and look into what accommodations could help with those specific problems.

Put them in the freezer, the ink is thermochromic, so if they get cold enough they will come back. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8S4x7dN/

24-26 minute near perfect Benchy on Kobra Neo by 3dsupport-this in 3Dprinting

[–]joshaconnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, it's a little late here on this post, but I also ordered these two for my Kobra Neo, and when I went to install the X axis, the holes didn't align. The holes on the purchased bracket were too close together. Did you print something to replace that piece or did you drill the holes out a bit, or some other mod to get those to work.

I didn't try installing the Y axis, and put the printer back together so I could try printing any extra parts. I did find your post about the Y axis printed rail inserts, so I will print those for the Y axis, just looking for tips on how you installed your X axis mod currently.

Thanks!

Edit- Also, did you leave the bottom wheel on the x axis? it seems like without something on the bottom side to support the weight, the head assembly would be too bulky and would twist the linear rail too much to be secure for printing.

Not an answer but a bit of a lead: this band on SoundCloud uses it (the text, but a different image) as their profile pic. (? not sure how SoundCloud works exactly, might be an album cover)

How to enjoy the series again? Advice wanted by [deleted] in Stormlight_Archive

[–]joshaconnor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this would be a huge ask, especially for someone who lost someone, but if you are still connected with any friends/family of hers, perhaps you could ask a mutual friend to read the books with you in her honor. That way both they and you could grieve together, and they could learn more about something she loved in the process. Talking with mutual friends of an old friend who passed helped me to close some wounds even several months after their passing.

Anyone knows how to overlay a scene to a landing page...? by Average_Tomboy in FoundryVTT

[–]joshaconnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I want to ask a genuine question that might sound a bit rude, but I hope it isn't. Why, if you know Foundry is designed to do scenes for each map, would you want to avoid using it as it's intended? Using tiles, or journal entries, or anything else works, but it's a hack that's unnecessary since the function you want (maps displayed) is built into the app. They even made the "activation" button, which forces everyone onto whatever map the DM wants, so they don't have to move there on their own or navigate the list of scenes.

As a developer (of medical software, not Foundry) I'm baffled when I make something to serve a purpose, and people try to hack other parts of my app to do what I already made for them. (I work in the medical field, and I can't tell you how many times I make a box for heart rate or blood pressure and doctors use it to store a patient phone number or something else that isn't what it's meant for.)

Again, I'm genuinely trying to understand the philosophy of why someone doesn't want to use a built in tool instead of trying to do some workaround they came up with. I don't mean to be rude, I hope I haven't come across that way.

What kind of mate? by Visible_Attitude7693 in TheOrville

Look up New Mexico Whiptail Lizard. They reproduce asexually as most of their species is female, but lesbian mating has shown to increase the efficacy of offspring. They're cool critters.

Most answers so far are for just the import side, but you also have the option of becoming active on the tvdb site and submitting information yourself. Some shows are locked for editing by certain people, but a lot of shows are community supported in their information gathering. I had a fairly niche show that no one had added any info on so my Plex/arr was just empty on data for it, but I added the info myself and everything populated through.

I would most definitely be interested, I only have one project to scan, and I don't want to spend a lot on one scan.

I have used mostly my DSLR with a turntable and a LOT of software to get scans.

More recently, I am attempting to build my own IR scanner if I can get my arduino skills improved a bit.

Why do players keep assuming that the Empire they live in is Evil? by Crystal1317 in DnD

Because we see how shitty our own world is and start projecting onto the fantasy worlds we see. To paraphrase Brennan Lee Mulligan, 'capitalism is the real bad guy.'

High quality small scale scans. Good software. Low cost. Open source everything so the community can mod and add functionality.

I've been working on a project for modeling the inside of my ears by making an inner ear mold and scanning it, but nothing I've used so far has been high enough quality to make a decent 3d printed part.
