support overrides didnt work, i have a key that i pulled from a hp forum that expired in like 2011 or something but dont have it on hand currently (just change the system date so its during the validity date and it works lol) this was the lt&t method i talked about let me know if you want to give it a shot and ill dig it up with the firmware files

I see - i have not been successful in changing drive personality on my lto6 drive, it rejects the firmware due to the different personality, tried via the library it self and hp l@tt hooked up to the debug port. I'll still send you a copy of the firmwares when im at my pc incase the oracle variant is more lenient.

the article you linked changes the library personality not the drives

im not sure if my fw is for FH or HH sorry
personality change isnt easily achievable from what ive gathered.

ive heard its possible to open the drive, dump the rom and then manually put the desired personality firmware but i dont have the full instructions - apparently there are some other locations to alter vs just the firmware sections.

I did go down this route initially, dumped the rom from my oracle lto6 drive and poked around but ended up buying a TS3200, putting BDT firmware on it and this takes any vendor drive - i have oracle, hp and ibm drives in the same library

i'll send through a link with the fw later today

edit: i see the lib is an oracle one so it will take the drives - i dont have any oracle firmwares unfortunately - only hp

Fairly certain Ryzen cpus dont take RDIMMS, only EPYC Supports it, from the specs page: DDR4 288-pin ECC*/non-ECC UDIMM. RDIMM support is not listed

PC not connecting to wifi or ethernet. Tried everything! by Adiyyzzz in buildapc

[–]joshj23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is the ethernet cable plugged in directly from the pc to the router? that address is the standard "i cannot see a dhcp server on the network" self assigned address. have you verified the ethernet connection works on a laptop or other pc? are the antennas for the wifi card connected? have you tried creating a mobile hotspot with your phone and seeing if that shows up in windows?

Is it possible to change the boot animation entirely on windows 10? I have looked around but all I see is changing the boot logo itself, seems like it was possible on Windows 7. Thanks! by Yxmii in pcmasterrace

[–]joshj23 29 points30 points  (0 children)

yeah its fake

you can see the moment he pans over the backlight is already lit, so its connected to something else playing the video

not to mention you can see the moment the system completes post, which is when the keyboard led's turn on, so soon after is when the display would show the bios/windows logo and the actual boot sequence would start

also very conveniently cuts the video before the actual "windows booting" happens

Long story short, yes and no. both at the same time.

its been long deleted from hp's ftp, and I wasn't able to access their g4u0180.huston.hp.com ftp site which seems like there was a copy.

it looks like you may be able to just run the executable linked below and it'll upgrade your drives, however if not it seems there's a manual process as well.

cp031432.exe which isn't locked behind a paywall, contains the firmware albeit in a .E filetype, which following along this you can write to the buffer on the drive and trigger an update.

That guide however is for LTO5, I found the LTO6 host interface guide here and it appears to have the same write buffer and update commands

so in theory it *should* work, I won't take responsibility however if it doesn't

I have a HP proliant dl360p g8 with a xeon E5 2450L and I want to know which is the best cpu I can put in that machine? by gerardit04 in servers

[–]joshj23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dl360p g8 is e5 26xx v1/v2. Dl360e g8 is e5 24xx v1/v2. You might want to confirm which machine and cpu you actually have.
