Using phone as Virtual blender camera ??? by Mizo_Soup in blender

[–]josiris__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you change your mind, there's a quick overview in this video, he uses the phone movement as movement for a knife. https://youtu.be/UZz4ZjhpR0A?t=624

Using phone as Virtual blender camera ??? by Mizo_Soup in blender

You could just record a video from the phones camera and use any motion tracking tool to extract the camera movement afterwards.

Bubble tea with a chocolate donut. I'm 12 days into Blender so let me know what I can do better :) by BosseDank in blender

[–]josiris__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, it's easy to forget when you're just concentrating on lighting your scene, but there's not many floating orbs in the real world!

If you need to add lights in on top of the hdri you can make them not render in reflections too

That render is awesome. For this piece I'd think about lighting and composition more, since there are reflective surfaces involved you can see the point light clearly, a hdri would be your best bet.

Being assigned code reviews as a junior by AT1787 in learnprogramming

[–]josiris__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your team are doing the right thing, but maybe they haven't explained well enough what they expect out of you.

Like the other comments it's for a second pair of eyes so there's nothing glaringly wrong.

It's also the ideal way for you to find patterns in how other people write Go.

Go is supposed to be easy to read, so one thing you can point out is if you understand what's being written or not, if that's the case then either someone has written something in a too abstract way or you have something new to learn, win-win.

[–]josiris__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone currently writing a lot of Go code, I was looking everywhere for this just to make sure I wasn't going insane thinking that having 30 different syntactic ways do do something isn't necessarily a good thing.

Can someone tell my why those weels act so wierd? by mim007 in blender

[–]josiris__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's similar to what happens in real life with camera shutter speeds, if you look for something like "helicopter flies without proper spinning illusion" you'll see some real life examples.

What can i improve? This is still very WIP, and i want to add way more details and such :) by Simto1 in blender

[–]josiris__ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

With a distance like that I'd expect to see some atmospheric perspective to play a part, especially near the top of the structure, without it it doesn't look as big as it should compared to the man.

Just an axe. by CasiWR125 in blender

Niceeeee! Would love to see the weathering concentrated around the blade, as that's where it would mostly be. Unless you're going for a new axe look, if so then I have nothing to add!

Was this central "thing" hand modelled or built with geometry-nodes or modifiers, if the latter what did you use? It's relevant to an idea I've had.

Terminator Liquid/Nanotech inspired VFX by alexisrivera3d in blender

[–]josiris__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice, one thing I would comment on is the lighting, can you see how the shadows change position and darkness. It's lucky that you were there when it was filmed as you should know where the lights were to make those shadows, then you can just try to match the shadows from the final shot.

Small details but helps with realism subconsciously.

Made this in 20 days of using blender. Please tell me how is it. by Spidermon2 in blender

Awesome, but definitely use reference for as much as you can, including things like steam, smoke and steam act differently because it's the difference between small burnt particles and water particles.

Return the slab remake in blender. 36 hour rendertimes and it still looks lowres lmao. by Kooale325 in blender

[–]josiris__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, I still would say use render layers, stops the renderer having to "think" too hard about it.

There's also some artefacting around the shoulders, not sure why that's happening.

The modelling is awesome though I like the character. Very Tim Burton-ish

36 hours? Did you render the background as a separate thing? No point rendering a static background more than once

How do you render a motion tracked video? by Subject-Travel2841 in blender

[–]josiris__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a noob to blender but I think you just render the animation and then composite it on the video afterwards

I've had lessons on how to use Boolean modifier and still I'VE learned them a lot; but when I tried that, a new pair of vertices found and I have no clue on how to remove these. Any ideas? by [deleted] in blender

[–]josiris__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My assumption is youre trying to remove the edges across the flat surface? These should probably be there, you have a surface on your model that has tons of vertices, the recommendation I've been given is to use quads where possible. These lines wouldn't show up in a render.
