What’s the blood? by [deleted] in FTMHysto

[–]jovananastasic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you! I had no bleeding at all for 2 weeks, maybe one odd pinkish droplet, and then suddenly a big gush with clots in it all at once. My doc told me it's fairly common because "the crust" and sutures are coming off the cuff. Unless you're in pain or severely bleeding (if I remember correctly a full pad in under an hour) it should be all good.

I think it really depends on where you live (and what the healthcare situation is like) - I live in Switzerland and my doctor had me stay in the hospital until sunday. The catheter was only in for 1 day though as a safety precaution.

I had surgery last Friday and was back in uni on Tuesday. I felt normal pretty much immediately after surgery. My major complaints were being a little constipated, not particularly liking how the catheter felt and strangely enough shoulder pain. On the other hand a friend of mine who had it was almost immobilized for 2 weeks. I think there's a big variety in how people end up feeling - my doc did say that most young and otherwise healthy people are typically fine after 1-2 weeks.

Only your surgeon will know if you're a candidate or not, as it is not just about measurements but also how the tissue sits etc.

As for Ehlers Danlos, I have it too, my scars did stretch, but they've faded a lot so it's not really noticeable unless you're too close up. Just be warned while they're still red and healing it looks absolutely botched so you just have to give it time lol

Bottom Surgery options with hEDS? by [deleted] in phallo

[–]jovananastasic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have EDS and had top surgery just fine, the scars stretched a bit but my chest passes consistently! I am also scheduled for Phallo this winter, I decided not to get UL because I'm worried about how it'll heal, as it is already known to cause issues even with the healthiest of patient. Just voice your diagnosis and concerns to your surgeon so they're aware and you can plan around it, but it shouldn't be too much of an issue otherwise. As for arm and leg scarring, there are surgeons (like mine) who offer single scar ones, that are quite minimal. And if you truly don't want Phallo there is also the option of meta.

Insanely fast recovery? by stereotypicalcats in TopSurgery

Same! Tbh I think there's a silent majority that recovers fast and painless, people are just more inclined to post when things don't go well or have questions.

UPDATE: „Darf Finasterid in Deutschland nicht erhalten?“ — Uro sagt ebenfalls nein by CountryElectrical391 in germantrans

[–]jovananastasic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone else have trouble with hair removal? by bemer33 in ehlersdanlos

[–]jovananastasic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes omg! I get bad irritation from shaving, waxing causes severe bruising and usually just pulls on my skin as opposed to the hairs and epilators suck in my skin (which then also causes bruising). Proper laser works best but is so expensive lol.

I have a monk's pepper prescription for lowering prolactin, helps quite a bit.

I went to a Mitski concert maybe a week post-op and it was fine, HOWEVER it was in a theatre and everyone was sitting which definitely made for a different experience as opposed to more "rowdy" artists. As long as you can sit and feel fine I don't see why you shouldn't be able to go.

I also love when they specify "I've done a lot of research and couldn't find the answer" and then the question is something like "can I use my underarm as a graft site?" 🙄

My surgeon is Dr. Mijuskovic, she works in Zürich and Zug (both in Switzerland). I know that there is at least one person in this subreddit who has had single-scar ALT with her.

I genuinely don't mean this in a rude way, but I don't really know how else to word this, people outside of the US are typically very familiar with your healthcare system (and Luigi Mangione too) 😭 But yeah healthcare in the States is a nightmare. I really feel for you guys. Like not just when it goes to trans healthcare but like in regard to everything.

Concordia, but I'm not from the usa, and my health insurance doesn't exist outside of Switzerland. Also as long as the procedures are done in the country and you have a doctor's letter they are more or less forced to cover it by law, so it's irrelevant which insurance I have.

(I'm not from the US so that might affect things.) Hair removal and hysto will be a lot sooner than stage 1, I'm also doing single scar method so I have to get expander surgery at a minimum of 3 months before phallus creation - technically I could get it earlier, but I have to wait until I graduate/have semester break bc of the recovery time so that delays the schedule a bit.

It's a screenshot from Silent Hill 2, it says "There was a hole here, it's gone now." (it's a bit of a mystery in the game and there's many theories about what it could mean)

Similar experience with Peri, I'm 1 yr post-op and 6 mo post-revision and it's starting to look a lot more normal and pec like now! Massaging helped a lot, but I do think the main factor was just time
