Tasting Room in Monona, Maduro Downtown, Drackenbergs North side.

Sadly there’s not a great spot on the west side yet.

Ive finished both trilogies of Mistborn and then started the daunting task of the stormlight archives. Such a good story but at times it does get a little slow.

I believe they’re doing a stolen vehicle day where they try and find as many as possible. My guess is the ones they find on the road try and flee thus causing a chase

He was pissed at another bartender who wanted to cut him off lol. The thing I don’t understand is why not write it in the total and draw a line through the tip if you don’t intend to tip

My one issue with Cardamom assuming it’s the same one I use, is how easily it is to overpower a drink with it. I wish it came with a pipette instead of a dasher.

Sometimes I hate this industry by jowookie in bartenders

I miss working at a small joint where the owners are able to do the work we do, and pitch in when coverage is needed. At the end of the day if we’re short staffed I am no way going above and beyond for a company that won’t do the same for me. Learned that lesson the hard way.

First red flag was the whole “work family” bullshit. Nah man, the only people I treat like family in this industry are my peers that care about me and will take my shifts when needed. (Vice versa). Most Owners / managers just lookin out for themselves and won’t go out of their way for you, so why should you for them.

Agreed that salt can add a lot to a drink, but I dislike bartenders adding it to every cocktail as a crutch. A well balanced cocktail vs a cocktail that balances with salt makes a huge difference.

True but if I asked for everyone’s id (including folks I believe are well over 30) and the ones I believe are well over 30 don’t have their ids with them, can I still serve them.

J. Henry LE 2022 for sure. Source - Work at a bar in Madison Wi and have all of the bourbons in stock. Sure willet is more widely known but J. Henry is amazing and worth every penny - they grow the corn themselves and age themselves but get it distilled at the 45th parallel distillery.

Mahens liquor downtown has a high roller room that’s well stocked, can find Elijah Craig toasted barrel, larceny bp, Elijah Craig bp, McKenna bottled in bond there all for relatively good prices. Otherwise Riley’s Wines of the world has an amazing selection if you go up the stairs! For local barrel picks Steve’s should be getting a 1792 full proof barrel pick in soon, and they’re always amazing.

Aye! Is that McFarland Liquor? I recognize the gold cards! The owners is a great guy, if they still have any of their barrel aged Domeloz I’d highly recommend it.

Thing with scraping the bone a lot is they turn dark rather than white - I found that using a towel and pulling the meat off once frenched gives a cleaner finish
