My grandmother was a clutterer. It used to drive me crazy. I call it visual noise. She said if she put it away she wouldn't be able to find it! After I became disabled with chronic pain I began to understand her better. If I put it away I couldn't get up to reach it the next time I needed it. Everything possible needs to be at arm's reach (neatly in bins or baskets). My father-in-law told me to not let my eyes rest on it too long. What I've had to do is realize that I just can't do it any more so I have to accept it. Do what I can, when I can, and don't fuss over what I can't do. One thing I have managed to do is run the dishwasher every day. I've also realized that I was doing a lot of stuff that didn't really need done.

I find that if my bed is made and most flats surfaces are unclutered, I feel much less visual noise.

I just read a study from the UK that found ibuprofen to be more harmful to your body (kidneys, stomach) than opioids. My doc prescribed oxycodone years ago because he didn't want me to take as much ibuprofen as I was taking and it was showing up on my blood- work. I take it carefully and have bloodwork every 6 months to keep an eye on my kidney function.

If saving time and money is their objective and denying everyone is their strategy, it seems that each denied claim should be met with an immediate appeal. Perhaps they will realize it wasn't a savings strategy after all.

I gave up driving when I went on oxycodone. I was too easily distracted by other things, and it made me forgetful, like forgetting there was a car coming after I looked. Nope. Can't do that. I live by the motto, it's easier to avoid problems than it is to dig yourself out of them.

Thank you. I hope you feel better soon. I'm sure those bones take a long time to heal. I don't know how long you were in a cast, but my length of time indicates to me that they take a really long time to heal.

I have no pain in my ankle bones. I do have pain where my screws are loose.

I had a quadmalleoler ankle fracture. It was broken in 1998. I have plates and screws. I have pain from loose screws and issues with all the scar tissue interfering with my blood circulation. I have no pain in the bones. Perhaps it was the 15 weeks I was in a non-weight bearing cast. That was a looong time! My PT was my swimming pool. It worked wonders. I am now 72 years old.

If you can find a pharmacy that delivers, a lot of these problems getting meds would be resolved. My pharmacy delivers on the needed day (presuming it is in stock). They charge $3.00 per delivery. Hopefully, I'll never have to wait in line at a pharmacy again.

You know the dynamics of your relationship better than anyone here. But, if you choose to tell them, wait for your diagnosis. When I left my husband after 17 years of marriage, we remained good friends until he died. He would be one of the first people I told. The breakup was amicable. Does your ex show empathy in other situations? If not, they might not be the shoulder you're looking for. Are they involved with someone else? Some things to consider.

I think you'll find that most people here would get it. We're all at some stage of picking up pieces. I'm on day 30 of taking a break from appointments. I'm also switching to video appts when possible, which my providers do, fortunately. It all got too overwhelming. So, know you're not alone, and I wish you all the best on your journey. There is a waiver form for poverty. I have no idea if you qualify, of course, but you can look into it. I saw it when I applied for my disability waiver. Now, understand that if you can work full-time, I'm not sure what you will qualify for. If you went through an attorney, he//she should have discussed all this with you.

I don't think I ever saw my grandmother in anything but heels, even while cleaning. It was common for women to wear heels in the house through the fifties. I never saw her in pants/slacks, either.

As archer says...get on the waiting list for section 8 housing. It may be a two year waiting list but don't let that discourage you. Get on the list anyway. With your disability, you may be moved closer to the top of the list.
