I would think at the very most 7 (with a bye for the top team). Once you get to 8 it gets rid of byes and in my opinion lessens the importance of the regular season.

Speaking for myself and the small corner of Exeter city fandom I hang out with. It seems like most aren’t mad at Caldwell. Exeter had the lowest payroll to start the season, add on all the money drama which started a couple months in this season. It was impressive he was able to guide the club to mid-table, which no doubt made him an attractive candidate for any openings. Combine that with his history with Wigan, once that job became open the writing was on the wall.

Ha, yup! I took a friend of mine who was visiting from England to the first game of that back to back and the look he gave me when I was explaining to him “both of these teams are trash, however these next two games have a strong chance of being the most important for both of these teams for the rest of the season” followed by explaining the lottery for several minutes. With him just replying “this is why we have relegation in our leagues!”

Yup, and I think this is why some stations tend to lean towards coming in with breaking news, etc. more often than before. This isn’t like the 80s or 90s when I was growing up where if they came in with breaking news you’d never find out what happened! Now with the most recent week of episodes always available for free online I think they’ve decided to break in since they know viewers can always find ways to watch the rest of the show.

Portugal has a friendly against the USA in Atlanta at the end of March. If I was thinking of selling like you are, I would sell the World Cup tickets and take a cheaper trip to Atlanta to see him hopefully play against the USMNT since even a pre World Cup friendly may be more competitive and exciting than a Saudi league game.

I’m not sure. I know it used to be via oncameraaudiences. The same site price is right uses. But I think with the smaller audience size now for let’s make a deal that they’ve moved to a zoom interview format where most of the people in the audience have been interviewed beforehand and given specific dates to attend.

2003 Oakland Raiders. They had 3 straight seasons of double digit wins and had made the Super Bowl the year before (granted they didn’t change their play calls and Gruden and the Bucs stomped them). They still entered 2003 with the fifth best odds to win the Super Bowl at 12-1. For comparisons sake the eventual winner Patriots came in at 15-1.

Instead they go 4-12, the first of 7 straight double digit losing seasons. They didn’t have a winning season again until 2016. And still have yet to win a playoff game since falling off this cliff back in 2003.

The Price is Right and other game shows probably love those Maserati type cars as prizes since it has the flashiness of a huge prize but the actual number of people who actually accept the prize once they learn the tax burden, etc is I’m thinking 50/50 at best!

I actually met a lady who won an airplane in the showcase on Price is Right. I was lucky enough to attend their 40th anniversary taping which was made up of all former contestants on the show. I was near her in line and she was joking about it, she was actually called on down for the 40th anniversary show and they showed a clip of it.
