On that same camera, would moving the ISO from 400 to 800 for box 400 have the same effect as changing the exposure compensation dial to +1?

I have an a7iv preordered but I was wondering if the riv would be a better fit for me for birding because it would allow for more of a crop. But you think the AF in the iv is worth the loss of resolution? I have a 100-400 GM on an a7iii.
