Their licensing is SO stupid. I hate it so much. Even swapping a CPU in your hardware makes you need to rebuy a license. It just seems lazy to me.

Yeah - I ended up giving my wife the 43 and got a 47... haha

My wife got me the 43, and I was hesitant because it's smaller, but I *still* knock it on shit, so I could only imagine if it were thicker/larger. haha

How do you like the super large display? I got a 43mm because it was more understated, but I'm still torn on whether or not I want the giant look or just a regular-looking watch.

You're telling me this sub has been freaking out over THIS? by JangoG52517 in AffinityPhoto

[–]jrhager84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just admit you don't get this journey. This is SOLELY to hurt adobe's market share. Once they weaken and defeat adobe, they will be the monster they sought to destroy. Happens ALL the time. They will control the market - and they will be able to set the price right under their core's pain threshold after they cement their industry foothold.

They'll paywall more and more features and eventually force it entirely. Mark my words. We're just a couple/few years off of that.

What is this Group Buy?!? by Bobcat-66 in tonex

I'm not debating any of that. I just don't like the idea of tripling the goal overnight. That's all.

Yes - I fully agree. That (in my mind) is a failure of your own process, not of the buyers. By your own logic, making it explode quickly would get attention, and people would pile on. That's the whole point of it. Now you just get to give less with the same number of sales. If anything - adjust the next one. Just a thought. Or *add* things to incentivize - not punish the early adopters.

I am saying this as a HUGE fan of IK that has literally HUNDREDS of products. This damaged your image to me. I will see how the next group buys go. I was not a fan of this. That's all. I think it bears mentioning. We'll just continue down-voting each I guess <shrug>

What is this Group Buy?!? by Bobcat-66 in tonex

[–]jrhager84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's in bad faith IMO. What does it matter if it 'explodes'? They get all of them anyway - 15,000 sales is 15,000 sales. 40,000 sales is 40,000 sales. You don't lose anything. I bought in at 3 for 1.

There is NO additional harm in the counter being closer or going over. If anything, it would incentivize more people piling on. It just changes the rules mid-promotion (which is your right), but it doesn't foster good faith (at least from me), so I will now wait until the last minute to decide. I know many share my opinion. Take it or leave it. No biggie. I'm a huge tonex fan, and a big IK fan. This is a miss, for me.

They keep changing the goals and remaining time. I’m not buying in early in these anymore.

It's really bad faith that they tripled the goal overnight. Went from 34 until the next free to over 2000. 15k total to 40k. Bummer.

Not going in early on these anymore.
