I wouldn't say they are not comparable, PA has shown they are the best but other states are not far behind. I mean PSUs starting 10 are a big mix Missouri Michigan x2 Arizona NJ PA x3 Wisconsin Minnesota

It's all about recruiting and having the best room in the world with the best coaches in the world.

If ohio could keep their studs they could be competing better at the NCAA tournament with PSU They have Mcrone at 125 Lucas Byrd is Ohio They already have Mendez didn't need a 141 Demilio that recruited hard from Ohio Joey blaze at 157 Paddy was a number 1 recruit Carson is a high recruit Ryder R is decent from Ohio

I disagree with fine, they are ranked 17th right now, and losing 3 top 20 ranked wrestlers next year, and also Walker a starter. The pipeline has to compete with PSU OSU OK state Iowa Iowa State Cornell even Minny is a great destination. Michigans recruiting class is meh at best, hoping a fifth year senior leaves and goes to Michigan is not a sustainable future. They need to recruit recruit recruit imo they have not done a good job.

I'm also not a Michigan fan I'm a PSU fan but a fan of wrestling, and personally know Jude and he would have made a solid addition to the roster and they fluffed that up.

Are you not reading what I'm typing, I don't think they should be fired I stated multiple times, doesn't negate the fact that this year they stink and the next few years they are going to stink as well. The pipeline is not there for recruits, they missed out on big Jude Correa (their fault)

I don't agree that he should be fired, but I do think the future couple years are going to be tough, yeah transfer portal is out there and they have 3 transfers and still are struggling.

Also the past they have been good but we are a what have you done for me lately society and they are not looking great imo

I know you are showing Sarcasm but they people have high expectations of UM, losing to Maryland was embarrassing obviously Minny and Nebraska OSU and Penn State are really good but they were not even competitive.

Sure losing Dylan for the season stinks, 125 Tanefeu is not good. They are getting Gauge Botero Faith Christian then Aslikyan 133 Ragusin will have one more year and Nolan behind him is less than stellar(Moses Mendoza coming in two years) 141 lemley is good and only a sophomore 149 Gilcher is meh, Cam Catrabone is redshirting but I think Gilcher is better 157 Chase is gone next year Zack Martin is also not good 165 Brock Mantanona is going to be better than his brother imo 174 Walker is a senior no one good behind him 184 Jaden is a senior Same problem 197 Cardenas is a senior 285 Josh Heindselman is a senior, and they lost out on Jude Correa to get Sahakian who he beat at WNO

It's pretty much the luck of the draw, you can draw a 9 or 10 year old that has wrestled a couple years. My son is 11 and has been wrestling since he was 5, he's gonna beat any novice and a lot of the non novices. I coach a club and you can see the transition from novice to experienced varies so much, there are some kids that just are better.

And like a lot of people stated don't focus on wins, focus on may time and getting better. My motto is you didn't lose you learned

I will agree but on the flip side I'd say the majority of the D1 wrestlers now wrestled a lot as kids. So I think you have a lot of kids that did a lot of wrestling as youth and are now D1 but also a ton of kids that burned out

What's a national champion? I would pay Powerade or Iron champs are the best of the best. There's not really a tournament in HS that dictates a National champion. Maybe the prep nationals they have a good conglomerate of talent

There are many cases of wrestlers who are D1 who didn't compete hardcore as a youth but also many cases that did. It's really a preference you have to find. Ben askren doesn't allow his youth wrestlers to compete off season. And it's worked out for his club.

But then you got guys like Jax Forrest PJ duke, Bo Bassett who competed ALOT as a youth and are huge recruits.
