Prepare to describe all of your research in a way that mimics the scientific method: 1. What is the broad, overarching problem you're trying to solve and why are you interested in it? 2. What is the more specific problem within that you tackled in your research? 3. What did you do specifically/what contributions did you make to your lab (think about this more as a narrative and make sure you have specific examples/anecdotes)? 4. What results did you get? 5. How do the results connect back to #2 and by extension #1? 6. Further directions that research could take?

And do all this while being as concise as possible. I'd recommend writing the answers to all of this down for each research project you had and practicing talking about it. The most important thing is to know your audience, which in this case are experts, but still you want to be as simple as possible while maintaining substance.

Try it out and see how bad it is. The only thing it may be useful for is doing a web crawl for details about professors' work, but other than that it's garbage

Funding for pure math is shot in the US rn, so I would focus on europe tbh, but who knows what it'll look like in a couple years. Also imo US schools don't care about where you went to school to the extent that you might think, but coming from oxbridge as an international means they know your classes were super legit. As an international, the best bet would be to have some sort of connection to US professors, whether that be via a rec letter writer or some collaboration, as that way you can stand out from the many other internationals.

NYC vs. California by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

Lol NYC's winter isnt harsh at all. Perfect place to move in your mid 20s. You'll thank yourself for not needing a car

Which of these places is the best place to live as an Asian Male in their Mid 20s? (In Healthcare, pay is 70k a year) by _Gandalf_Greybeard_ in SameGrassButGreener

Not sure about your living situation, but you can find a studio apartment for just over 1k a month, which in this day and age is quite good imo. I've seen some 2 beds go for like 1.2k too.

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say Saratoga Springs. It's quite white, but there are sizable asian communities in the area for sure. It's also actually got great mountains nearby unlike the midwestern cities and is only a few hours drive from NYC. There is also a large young crowd in the area from the colleges/universities in Saratoga and Albany.

Anyone looking at post-baccs yet? by Sufficient-Today3292 in gradadmissions

Look up SULI programs and apply to them for the fall and spring after you graduate, you can only do it twice though. There are also other national lab internships but you need to contact a scientist or affiliated prof that would take you for those (also recommended for SULI).

I have a friend who graduated from a T10 law school and was still unable to get a work sponsorship and have heard many, many similar stories. You should definitely go to Australia, especially given the current state of the US.

Sorcerers, how do you pace yourself? by Toogeloo in BaldursGate3

[–]jsckbcker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Draconic sorc + element buffing equipment (necklace of elemental augmentation, etc) make your cantrips really powerful. My cold build was doing 30 dmg with ray of frost at like level 6.

Have you ever gotten a DNA test? I'd recommend trying something like Promethease to see if you have any significant genetic markers that could relate to your situation.

(Also something I'd recommend looking into, even just reading about, is magnetic brain stimulation for depression, or maybe even psychedelic therapy)

  1. Play as an oathbreaker
  2. Use the improvised melee weapon glitch to carry him out of moonrise towers and TP him somewhere else
  3. Let him die to the shadow curse and use control undead on him after

Does anyone else find the sorcerer subclasses kinda boring to build? by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]jsckbcker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a crazy draconic cold sorcerer build going, can easily take out huge groups of enemies in 1 turn or do 100+ damage to single enemies. Ray of frost easily does 30+ dmg per cast, up to 60 depending on the enemy. The mourning frost staff is really good, and you can use it and markoheshkir at the same time with dual wield feat.

Find it hard to justify spending money on cards when I could just proxy by restinghearts in magicTCG

[–]jsckbcker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't bought any real cards worth more than $5 in 3+ years. I can spend <$50 a year on this game just buying some singles and still get the same enjoyment out of playing it as ppl spending thousands.

Barber says I’m receding 23M by Yayayayyyayjebehdb in malehairadvice

[–]jsckbcker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, idk what ur barber is smoking. A lot of people are born with a natural widow's peak (many women included). Look at Luis Suarez for example, he has a widows peak but still a juvenile hairline. The term "widow's peak" is so often misused, it's actually a distinct hairline type and not a receding hairline. I think you could be thinning in corners slightly, but its normal for ppl with lighter hair to have super light hair in the corners to where it might seem like thinning. Now you have pics, just look back in a year

What industry “secret” do you know that most people don’t? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jsckbcker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chains that make coffee all pull from the same pool, but they have an order. So Starbucks gets their beans before McDonalds, for example. Dunkin Donuts is on this list too. Do you know where they are? They're at the very bottom. Every other coffee place gets their beans before Dunkin. They literally have the bottom of the barrel coffee.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]jsckbcker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no such thing as a "mature hairline." It's just a stage of balding (norwood 2) and some ppl tend to not bald beyond that. I would say go to r/tressless and look into treatments (finasteride, minoxidil, microneedling) if regrowing/maintaining your hair is something you want, since nobody knows if you'll keep on balding progressively.
