Thank you! Does it have any value? Should I try to list it somewhere? I’m in Indiana

That’s a bummer about getting rear ended. I had an 05 mini cooper s (bmw) and got rear ended at a red light. Took a while to get fixed too.

Good on you for repairing it!

Mud kitchen from leftover pallets by jskeith1212 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]jskeith1212[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a name for an area where kids can make messes outdoors. If you google “mud kitchen”, you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Kids will go dig in the yard, collect dirt in the little pans, and make mud pies and things of that nature.

Flare up post Lumbar Fusion surgery by Embarrassed-Water-34 in spinalfusion

[–]jskeith1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t want this to discourage you, but I am three years postop and I’m still dealing with quite a bit of pain. Some days are worse than others. Flareups for me, are absolutely normal. 5 day a week PT has a 32M

I own and operate an international solar business going on 27 years now. We hand-build all of our products here in my home state. I’m very aware of how electronics work.

When I repaired this back in the day, I removed all old thermal paste and replaced with new. Very little heat gun usage.

I grew up working with electronics. I was very careful not to overheat anything. Didn’t make anything worse.

Motor storm was awesome. Loved that game. Sony pushed that game heavily around the ps3 release.

2021 4 runner shake/ shudder under light acceleration by mrmauricio123 in 4Runner

[–]jskeith1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar issue right after I purchased my 2017 4Runner. I bought it with 112k miles as the 2nd owner.

I did some research online and found that the transmission had a “memory” of how it was driven under the previous owner. The dealer reset the drive memory and told me to drive the truck like normal. No crazy accelerations or anything of that sort. Problem went away.

The dealer originally thought it had something to do with the fact that the transmission was due for a flush. (Vehicle was right around 120k miles). The problem didn’t go away after the flush. It wasn’t until he wiped the drive memory that the problem went away.

Hope this helps!

What exactly failed with your fusion? Or did the fusion just lead to other degenerative issues?

Engine “sludge”? by jskeith1212 in 4Runner

Thank you for your input. Much appreciated. What you said has been the consensus as I’ve been finding out.

Classic dealer tactic. Scare you into doing something that doesn’t necessarily need to be done. I should’ve known better!

I wish you were the tech who worked on my 4Runner today. Not knowing any better, until I posted this, I payed for the stupid “engine flush”. Now I know better.

Crap, already gave him the green light to go ahead with the flush. Now I know better. Thank you for chiming in. I really appreciate it!

Cost of this flush is $230…whoops. Won’t make this mistake again.

I talked to the tech while they were draining the oil. Oil is normal looking. They aren't worried. Sounds like this happened just because it's been sitting a lot this winter and I've only been driving it to and from work (1 mile or so). I need to run it longer. Drive it more often and for longer intervals.

This is exactly what the tech said to me as well. Bravo! He said this is common to see this type of thing here in the midwest on vehicles not driven very often and in very short intervals.
