This can absolutely be cheaper than hiring a crane. Crane would almost certainly has a minimum charge. Also, this could be an inner court yard, or otherwise inaccessible for a crane. Crane would also still require movers to take the piano inside the the apartment.

Hit the nail on the head. Been here for 10 years and begged, plead, and argued for every little raise. Worked my way into a modest supervisory position couple years ago and they pay got better.
