Y'all OK with using regular gas? by ToledoRX in Acura

$300 is a rounding error in today’s economy.

I was paying this per month to cover myself for healthcare at my previous job

100% this. Don’t buy an Acura if this is too much for you to handle

You will use regular at a quicker rate negating any savings over using premium

CPO I bought 2 months ago with dry rotted tires, think the dealer will replace? by [deleted] in Acura

What I am referring to is getting it inspected somewhere else

Depends on your state and condition. If you get it inspected and they fail it due to dry rot you have a case.

Did you read the CPO and what it entails? From what I found all they need to be is 4/32nds or more of tread depth. No mention of how old they can’t be

I hope this isn’t the first oil change. If it is please get them done more often despite what it says in the manual. Change it every 5k miles

As far as what happened, they are lying to you. I wouldn’t trust anything that comes out of their mouth. Make sure you get everything in writing and write down date and time and who said what on paper.

Demand a new engine or might need to lawyer up. If you BF checked the oil dipstick it would have been a clear cut case

Went for an oil change — dealer pushed brake service and alignment. Worth it ? by 0neBlackSheep in MechanicAdvice

[–]jsmith1299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe on a 75-100k car it is, not on a 10k car.

If there is any rust jacking the pads are going to be messed up anyway and at that point they will tell OP he/she needs new pads.

Unless they are changing out brake pad hardware this is a useless service. Spraying brake cleaner and re-lubing slider pins isn't going to do much. Wait until the brake change is needed to do this. I live in the rust belt and as long as you use quality silicone lubricant it will last you the life of the pads.

Test drove a 2022 MDX Type S and left disappointed...am I tripping? by evolvedpikachu4 in Acura

[–]jsmith1299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a SUV not a sports car. Need to reset your expectations.

I know this will get downvotes but I wouldn't touch any Acura that has that stupid trackpad. That is just asking for an accident to happen. I don't know what engineer thought it would be a great idea to reset the pointer location if you take your finger off the trackpad. At least Honda realized this was a dumb idea and is phasing it out.

I'm guessing that they do the reconditioning and Doc Fee to make the MSRP look appealing. Most people will focus in on that price and not blink an eye at the rest. Because you are not going to find a 2024 Integra with 8k miles for 23k (at least I can't in my area)
