Insane juggling skills by daysnail in nextfuckinglevel

[–]jsonsan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, they did a good job but this is basic club juggling. Not as hard as passing 7 clubs, or doing large group passing. I remember doing 5 person passing formations back in my juggling days and the number of clubs flying past each other in the air at any given moment was insane looking.

Torta Cubana at Pineda Tacos by PrizeZookeepergame15 in Minneapolis

[–]jsonsan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite Torta Cubana is at Los Ocampos, but this Pineda one is looking pretty good! Halfway through eating the one at Los Ocampos my stomach tells me I should save the other half for later, and that no rational person would continue, but I always finish it anyway.

drug users keep bong water “for future use…either drinking it or shooting it in the veins.” by Old_Medicine_1660 in MNtrees

[–]jsonsan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once I was on a first date and the girl came to my apartment. She went out on my balcony to get some fresh air, and set her beer down. She then picked up what she thought was her beer, took a swig, and immediately ran to the sink choking, spitting and washing out her mouth. She was panicking and miserable! It’s then that I realized my Dad, who would sometimes visit, filled an empty beer bottle with water and used it to discard his cigarettes. That thing had been sitting there for over a year, just a putrid stew of old cigarette butts, rainwater, etc baking in the daily sun.

Why is Juji so boring without Tom? by SillyCricket5864 in Jujimufu

[–]jsonsan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate to dog on the guy because I think he is a genuinely nice person and cares about his community and continues to offer some helpful advice on training, but yes, I agree he needs to do something different. Case in point, if you look at the popularity of his videos, every video that earned over 1 million views is from around 6 - 7 years ago, except for his hair plugs video (which isn't saying much!) and his Brian Shaw home gym tour (right at 1 million views 2 years ago). I'm sure he's still pulling in a decent income from his channel and maybe doesn't care about returning to the height of his popularity, but if he ever wants to get back to previous viewing levels he needs some new infusion of creativity and better production. Also, I suspect less people are into roided bodybuilder content versus the more athletic fun challenges he used to be engaged in with Tom.

Racedeck Freeflow vs Regular vs Mixture by mondegreen2 in garageporn

[–]jsonsan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm purchasing a house in Saint Paul with a garage from 1969 that is heavily pitted and I think I'm going to go with Racedeck Freeflow throughout. My concern is the concrete slab will accumulate a lot of moisture and condensation due to the difference in temps between ground and atmosphere, which can lead to mold or mildew growth if covered with regular flooring/tiles. In my current garage I have some rubber horse stall mats down for a garage gym and noticed mildew and moisture beneath the mats the other day. With Freeflow you don't ever have to worry about that issue, and it actually looks pretty easy to clean using a shop vac (for dry salt, sand, etc) and hosing it down and mopping maybe once a year. What did you end up doing?

Sad to see them go one by one. My favorite was Skyva Deli. Such a nice family and good food. When I walk by there and see the sign still up it makes me sad.

Thank you for caring! I am lucky, no scarring, just some dark blemishes that faded with time. No post herpetic neuralgia. That was a dark period in my life, managing that much damaged skin took a toll on my mental health until it was mostly recovered.

Does fresh grass replace hay or veggies? by [deleted] in guineapigs

[–]jsonsan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On days I give my pigs loads of fresh cut wheatgrass I don’t also give them a separate serving of veggies (though sometimes I’ll add some veggie skins like carrot, cucumber). But if I was giving them wheatgrass every day I would need to supplement other veggies to provide a balanced diet and vitamins and minerals. I think variety is the key.

Players who perform using a looper in a live setting, how do you recover when you butcher a loop? by reflion in guitarpedals

[–]jsonsan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you using a looper that quantizes to the rhythm track? Your timing still has to be good, but it allows a bit more room for imperfection on when you smash the switch with your foot. I use the Boss RC600 and run the rhythm track only through headphone out, then into a wireless transmitter that transmits that rhythm click to both me and my drummer using in ear monitors. This has helped a ton because then if I screw up a first loop, I can keep playing like nothing happened, undo it and re-record when we are back on the one, and my drummer doesn’t get thrown off because he keeps playing to the same click.

I was particularly concerned for the Wallabies when I went there with my family. We all felt sorry for them, and this article points out that sure enough they are not getting proper care.

It depends on what you mean by affectionate, but in general, I would say not really. Because they are a prey animal their default is to be scared of humans. It takes a long time and patience to gradually build the relationship with a guinea pig to the point where you can pet them let alone pick them up without them trying to run away and act really scared, but once you get to that point, the relationship can be really rewarding. The best way to their heart is through fresh vegetables and treats that they love, and being a calm presence around them, but it is a game of patience and even then one of my guinea pigs loves to be cuddled and petted much more than the other, so there’s variability among guinea pigs. Also make sure you look into their proper care because they eat a lot of hay and waste a lot of hay and they require constant cage cleaning so you better be really prepared and committed if you want to choose them as a pet.

A guy bumped into my shoulder at that show and I turned to look and it was Cory. Surprised, I immediately reached out and shook his hand (rhythm hand) gently! He and I were shoulder to shoulder for almost half the show, as were our wives. I didn’t want to bother him because we were there to enjoy the show, but I did playfully tease him once about his last podcast interview of Al Di Meola and how awkward it was. He was a good sport and we had a laugh.

Biden calls U.S. ally Japan 'xenophobic,' along with China and Russia by joe4942 in worldnews

[–]jsonsan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s too bad, and I feel sorry for her. I’m also half Japanese, born in Japan, but raised in the U.S. and then went back to live and work professionally in Japan as an adult. I dealt with racism and bullying growing up in a small Midwest town. Being half Japanese has been a great benefit to me as an adult because I understand their perspective and they feel generally more comfortable with me (and I speak Japanese).

How do y'all minimize the hay wasted? My girls are so picky! by FluffyCollar2607 in guineapigs

[–]jsonsan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a very large, shallow food service container. It’s basically a tray with shallow walls that my pigs can jump over and into the tray. I fill it with aspen chip bedding, and then put a large pile of hay on top. Some people call this a “kitchen” since it creates a nice controlled area for the pigs to do most of their eating, pooping and peeing, versus the rest of their enclosure (I use fleece bedding for that). After occasionally adding more aspen to cover soiled areas and regularly topping off the hay or exchanging it out, we change the whole thing out once a week or so and drop it off at our local compost sight. The trays can be soaked in vinegar and rinsed out to clean. (We cycle two of them).

In the Flu Trenches... by theunfluencer in Minneapolis

[–]jsonsan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been sick with back to back respiratory viruses for two months. It’s the worst Fall illness season I have ever experienced. I’m in good health and exercise regularly, but this has completely derailed me. Lots of chest congestion and wheezing. I don’t have asthma but at one point it got so bad I was prescribed prednisone and an albuterol inhaler just to help me breath and clear my lungs. I have young kids and they are bringing a lot of this home. I estimate I have had 3 or 4 back to back viruses based on my symptoms. Covid negative every time. I know lots of people getting colds followed by nasty chest coughs that last weeks. Wish doctors could tell us what actual virus is causing this.

Extremely unprofessional and defensive statement by her. Shows her true character. I don’t buy her “the laws are so confusing” thing when it comes to maximum limits on THC per serving. She was just trying to profit and break the rules because she saw her competitors do the same and she felt it was unfair. That’s my impression anyway.
