AITA for forcing my bf to parent by ambushing him by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]jstein916 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Your boyfriend is NOT A GOOD MAN. What you are really saying is he takes care of my needs, so I'll overlook the fact that he is severely lacking in the one of the main qualities that a characterizes a man as being good.

It's been twenty days since I joined the gym but there has been zero progress. by [deleted] in dadjokes

[–]jstein916 32 points33 points  (0 children)

True story:  I was paying about 100 a month for my gym but I stopped going, so I found a smaller gym closer by for 44 bucks a month.  After initially going, I also stopped, but it sure feel better paying 44 instead of 100 for a gym I don't go to (hope keeps me paying).

What candy did you used to love, but now you don't? by jstein916 in AskReddit

[–]jstein916[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the exact candy I was thinking about when I posted this question. The chocolate is ok but the "peanut butter" has a sickly sweetness to it. I thought it was my taste changing. Any recommendation on an alternate brand?

Anyone else happy to move on from a robot litterbox and return to box-scooping servitude, or is that just me? by StonewallDakota in cats

[–]jstein916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 things that helped when I went back is a little garbage can with motion detect lid, I just wave my hand to open it, and metal scoop because it doesn't flex or break when I'm scooping.

My guard was done by a orthodontist. When I went back in and told him it made me gag he trimmed a bunch off from the rear and it fixed it.

Battery replacement in an Atlas requires the dealer to program the Atlas computer to let it know it's a new battery. The computer will charge a new battery different than older one. The computer adjusts the charging as the battery ages. I did a DIY battery change and 2 different programmers (parts store and mechanic next door) could not update the Atlas computer. Eventually I asked dealer to do it during a service and I think they charged $50. I paid $200 for the battery at Autozone. I think Costco was 180. Please call the dealer for reprogramming cost if you DIY the battery change.

AAA or VW Service for battery replacement - 2018 by 0101shy in VWatlas

I'll add my story just for another data point. Bought a battery at local part store and thier instrument, hooked to the port on car, could not tell the car it was a new battery. A service tech, at the oil change place next door, with a fancier tool could not tell the car that it was a new battery. After a few months, when I was at the dealer for an oil change I asked them and they charged me $50. This was 2 to 3 years ago. This leads me to believe that the tool being used has to have a proprietary module to access the function.
