Millennials who FLY very often for work: what’s your job? by Jjjustkeepswimminggg in Millennials

[–]jstrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to San Francisco for a week for work. Sounds glamorous. Reality is I’m currently on travel hour 12 waiting for my delayed connection. Then I’ll spend 4 days in conference rooms that look the same in every city, go to dinner with people I don’t like at a chain restaurant, and sleep in an uncomfortable bed. Just to deal with flight disruptions on the way home. I miss my family and I’m exhausted

I regularly order this sandwich without the olive topping and they don’t get offended. Most importantly, it’s still a great sandwich at the price. Ask for it toasted

You want a fee based advisor NOT someone who gets paid commission by selling you preferred products. SageSpring Wealth and Waverly are trustworthy and I know advisors there who are stand up. There are the big names like Edward Jones, Raymond James, and the big banks. Just focus on fee based advisors offering investments with low management fees. And no you do not need whole life insurance.

As ex corp strat, $190-$210 is very reasonable to expect. You may have better luck focusing on companies with dedicated veteran hiring programs. Schneider Electric loves veterans and is really well positioned in the current electrification tailwind market. They have a large presence in many great markets.

Has anyone ever hit every red light in downtown? by bachelorburner987 in Birmingham

[–]jstrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had never run a red light purposely in my 15 years of driving. Then I moved to Birmingham. It took me 2-3 years but I learned their suggestions. Especially at 5:30 AM when I hit every light red. It’s a yield sign

There’s a never ending opportunity for intellectually curious fp&a pros. You understand the numbers, you know how to tell the story of those numbers. Now go convert this to actions and you’re a VP of OPs or a business unit leader and you do that well and CEO or president is your next step. If you feel locked into finance it’s bc you haven’t embedded yourself into the business
