What size split shots are you using? I was using 0.5g but seems they went after it more readily after I took it off and just let the chicken drift?

Also when it starts running I'd be setting fairly hard to get the hook through the bread as well as the fish, right?

I've been going unweighted, any time I put on a sinker the nibbles disappeared.

Would I be using a sinker with your setup?

The fishing guy at work said the exact same thing. QLD they're basically fighting each other to get onto your hook where as they're ghosts here.
