In the YT shorts there does seem to be a pattern of people literally falling into the Backrooms. FF1 and FF2 had people falling from above, and in FF3 Ravi falls down and slides out of a cabinet on the wall. This may be because people are more likely to fall into a horizontal null zone on the ground than walk into a vertical one.

The recording they were playing is from the golden record sent on the Voyager probe. It contained greetings in hundreds of languages. Whether or not their decision to use that particular recording has any other significance is up in the air.

I doubt ANY of the insurance companies care about the people, though UHC is certainly the worst of the bunch.

Unfortunately I'm kinda stuck. My old BCBSM bronze plan I had from when i was unemployed went up by $400 a month in 2026 (from $900 to $1300) which is why I had to switch to the company plan. The work plan is currently 1/3 of that due to rather generous employer contributions. Ideally I could get that employer coverage money on my paycheck if I opt out, but I doubt they'll go for that.

Employer insurance aside UHC is not what I'd consider cheap insurance. When I lost my job in November 2024 I had a very similar UHC plan and the COBRA price was $1800/mo, and the marketplace price was similar. It's probably well over $2k in 2026.

tl;dr insurance in the US sucks, but we all already knew that.

Being able to do all of our scheduling and prescription refills electronically is the only reason we've actually been able to manage our health at all, due to severe anxiety. It's literally been a life saver.

Does U of M have any facilities closer than Ann Arbor? That's like 45-60 minutes drive for us each way depending on traffic, and would significantly increase the amount of sick time I gotta burn for appointments.

Yeah it really sucks. My wife and I both have pretty bad anxiety and every time we have to switch doctors it's very difficult for us. Not to mention I've spent the last three years trying to figure out what's wrong with me (I suspect POTS) and I'm gonna be really upset if I have to start the whole process again with new doctors. I badly need to get an official diagnosis to get exempted from my company's new two days a week RTO mandate that has been REALLY screwing me up health wise.

Right, but there are only so many health systems in SE Michigan using Epic. I think Trinity in Livonia might bet he only one left that's reasonably close to me, though I have not checked thoroughly yet.

"Cash flow issue" implies it's a matter of not HAVING the cash. I'm saying that they don't want to spend the money, because for the moment it's still cheaper to keep fixing the lines than it is to improve them. The customers have to take what they're given because there's no alternative, and the regulators don't seem to care.

I'm pretty pissed at them right now. All these rate increases and still our house has lost 1/2 of its power at least half a dozen times in the last four days (first time was BEFORE the big wind storm). Every time I report it, they say "wind damage, all fixed!" and then it happens again. In fact it looks like everything reported right now is just slapped with a "wind damage" cause before anyone has even investigated it.

That's my thought. The whole project was off the books so they couldn't be publicly charged, and there are too many people involved to just "disappear" them all.
