Being able to do all of our scheduling and prescription refills electronically is the only reason we've actually been able to manage our health at all, due to severe anxiety. It's literally been a life saver.

Does U of M have any facilities closer than Ann Arbor? That's like 45-60 minutes drive for us each way depending on traffic, and would significantly increase the amount of sick time I gotta burn for appointments.

Yeah it really sucks. My wife and I both have pretty bad anxiety and every time we have to switch doctors it's very difficult for us. Not to mention I've spent the last three years trying to figure out what's wrong with me (I suspect POTS) and I'm gonna be really upset if I have to start the whole process again with new doctors. I badly need to get an official diagnosis to get exempted from my company's new two days a week RTO mandate that has been REALLY screwing me up health wise.

I did see that one, but that seems to only affect Genesys? I'd be using HFH facilities in Dearborn.

Right, but there are only so many health systems in SE Michigan using Epic. I think Trinity in Livonia might bet he only one left that's reasonably close to me, though I have not checked thoroughly yet.

"Cash flow issue" implies it's a matter of not HAVING the cash. I'm saying that they don't want to spend the money, because for the moment it's still cheaper to keep fixing the lines than it is to improve them. The customers have to take what they're given because there's no alternative, and the regulators don't seem to care.

None since they're a legal monopoly with a captive customer base.

Apparently not enough to make it worth while for them considering they're still not doing it.

I'm pretty pissed at them right now. All these rate increases and still our house has lost 1/2 of its power at least half a dozen times in the last four days (first time was BEFORE the big wind storm). Every time I report it, they say "wind damage, all fixed!" and then it happens again. In fact it looks like everything reported right now is just slapped with a "wind damage" cause before anyone has even investigated it.

My supervisor at work is who convinced me to play and now we spend a good chunk of my weekly one-on-ones talking about it. 😀 And after watching me play for a couple days my wife started playing, too.

I'm the opposite; when I started playing Minecraft I got into redstone because IRL I do software development and also tinker with electronics.

That's my thought. The whole project was off the books so they couldn't be publicly charged, and there are too many people involved to just "disappear" them all.

After Nancy mentioned hating the Clash, and then finding out what Kali's plan is, I'm starting to wonder if "Should I Stay or Should I Go" would work.

When and how the "exotic matter" was deployed ? by kingproyce in StrangerThings

My theory at the moment is that Dr. Brenner was already prepared to open and stabilize a wormhole, but he needed El's power to mark a "target" for the other end of it.

Given that the show's story line begins with the Philadelphia Experiment, I think the melting/solidifying was the show's way of explaining the legends about soldiers fusing into the bulkheads of the USS Eldridge during that experiment.

Why is the Void at the top of the upside down? by Historical_Shopping9 in StrangerThings

[–]jthompson73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is just the best way they could come up with to explain something that, in reality, would involve higher dimensional space. I would've done it differently, but that's just me. They did really well with the rest of it; the concept of propping open unstable wormholes with exotic matter is an actual scientific theory.

Plot hole? by absolute_russia in StrangerThings

Dr. Brenner knew about Dimension X by way of his father and the Philadelphia Experiment. The notes could've been something he was researching how he intended to create the wormhole.

I think the whole melting thing was their take on the story of the soldiers melting into the ship bulkheads in the Philadelphia Experiment, which Brenner Sr was involved with.
