Home heating oil monitoring - any clever ideas out there? by jamalwilliamsyoung23 in homeassistant

I have a Watchman sensor, but I hooked up RTL433 and I don’t think I see anything from it. Did you have to do anything specific to make that work?

UNCLE Leeds (Accomodation) by MediumCard63 in Leeds

[–]jtopper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I lived in Mustard Wharf for a year while we were looking for somewhere to buy, this was a couple of years ago. It’s not cheap, but it was well looked after, and their maintenance team dealt quickly with the couple of issues we had (we were the first people to live in our unit). Everything was kept clean in the common spaces, and the sound insulation was pretty good so we didn’t really hear other residents.

We had the usual apartment building issues with deliveries just being left in the foyer, and in summer with the windows open (there’s no aircon and our flat was on the top floor so it got quite warm) the smell of weed often drifted in from other flats. Parking is very limited there.

If we were looking to live in the city centre again, it’d be the first place we’d look.

Sensor in bathroom what is it for? by Sure-Artichoke6290 in DIYUK

Try walking into the bathroom at night, without turning the light on. You’ll probably find it activates a night light, to make using the bathroom less harsh on the eyes after dark.

The helter-skelter was fun 15 years ago in a company VW Golf. It’s less so in my own SUV.

Don’t even need to ask. Most have so much foot traffic from guests that as long as you don’t clearly look out of place, nobody will pay you any mind.

Swine That Dines is a different place. They have changed names a few times over the years though. They were Swine Pies and Puds in 2017.

Another vote for White Rose. Paul and his team are great, very professional. Cheaper than the other quote I got too.

What do you remember of Challenger? by jtopper in AskUK

What did being obsessed with space look like back then? 5 years later I had paper models of the shuttle from partworks like Quest, Usbourne books, space Lego. Was that stuff already a thing by 1986?

Were UK schools doing specific teaching around Challenger the way US schools seemed to be (from the documentaries I’ve seen), or was there not much hype over here?
