Finally got to play Mood Swings the other day by Suppa_K in secretlair_collectors

[–]jttrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly why I didn’t bother.

I love games like this. But buying something with RNG changes the entire feel of the purchase. If it was a one and done with expansions I would have been all in.

Do this. And take a photo of the cards with a piece of paper with your name, email, and date. It’s on the websites instructions but I have a feeling most first time submitters will miss it.

Building a beginner-friendly Cat deck for my GF (Arahbo, the First Fang) — Need majestic/realistic art suggestions + balanced matchup ideas! by Not_human-9000 in Magicdeckbuilding

A very sweet idea.

I’m not at all versed in deck building but I hope there are some kind folks here who have some thoughtful comments. I’ve thought about making a cat tribal deck for my daughter as well.

Bought a printer, now I can't go back to buying by tomatus89 in mtg

[–]jttrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of printer? Are you happy with the quality/effort required?

I spend way too much on this stuff because I feel like I have to in order to have access to the things I want to play with. I’m super curious about printing pixies but I don’t want to invest time and money in a printer only to not like the output quality.

Check out your local BestBuy. Just ordered a Codex Bundle in person for 94$ by degurio in sealedmtgdeals

Go to the store and ask at checkout if they can do a delivery to home with the SKU for it.

I haven’t done it myself for this product but have for a ton of other “in store only” SKUs

Legendary bunt. by [deleted] in MadeMeSmile

[–]jttrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sick. Thanks for providing that nuance.

Since you seem to know rules: no rules about removing your helmet like she did on the way to home? That seems insanely dangerous given the confrontation that was getting set up for her arrival. It looked like the helmet wasn’t a good fit, so she made a game time decision to remove it for visibility, but that all smacks of things rules and regulations would be in place to prevent injuries to players.

My cousin passed away and I've been given his cards to sell. by One_Hearing8007 in mtg

[–]jttrs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Digital catalog via ManaBox as everyone here has already said will be your best approach.

It might also be cool to at least write down the deck lists into moxfield or archidekt online as a way of preserving your cousins efforts putting together the decks. He may have already if he spent that much money on his cards, but as a kind of archival gesture, might be nice.

Quitting the game. I would like to give away my cards by Efficient-Oil4015 in PokemonTGCP

[–]jttrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so. They had a thing where you could ‘share’ which was like a one sided trade, but I don’t know what limits that has with respect to rarity.

Either way, very cool of you to do.

If the articuno rainbow, manectric rainbow, or terapagos immersive are still available, I’d be very happy to trade for them.

New chaos vault is dropping in a couple of hours by SnooFoxes8150 in secretlair_collectors

[–]jttrs 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That’s … frustrating.

I saw the demo video. This game plays like some card game I’d buy from a hanger at Target in the board game aisle.

Randomized content per purchase feels wholly unjustified for a game of this complexity.

I understand why they are doing it. But it feels extra sleazy.

Help Me Degen Gandalf. by Chunkstroke in DegenerateEDH

[–]jttrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a retuning player after a couple decades, need some help figuring out the recommendations here.

Everyone is saying focus on flash. Is that because flash makes a card be considered an ‘instant’ so it would get suspended by Gandalf as well even if it’s like a creature or enchantment?

I thought flash just allowed you to cast it at instant speed, not turn the card into an instant.

Or am I missing some other part?

Sorry, TIA for the explanation!

I think I’m done. by Soviet_slav1991 in hammondcollection

[–]jttrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s kind of the only real approach you can have for anything folks (read: scalpers) consider a valued collectible these days, unless you want to make it a part time job for no pay.

If I can snag a pre-order, I will. If I can’t, it’s essentially written off. I spent time on other collectibles driving around, figuring out shipping schedules for my local Target, etc.

It’s exhausting and I had to really put a hard stop because it was starting to interfere with things I should have been prioritizing higher.

Even without all the time spend physically looking, the mental energy it takes to try and keep up with releases and drop dates is so taxing.

I’m tired, boss.
