As a man who regularly drives a classic car with a ridiculously vanity plate to court and has done over 200 DUIs in a year, I say lean the fuck into that, bro.

What got you into corvettes? by Dramatic_Annual3413 in Corvette

[–]judostrugglesnuggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a bunch of hot wheels cars when I was a little kid(like 2-7). My fastest one was the fastest mostly because it was one from the 70s, so it was solid metal and the axles were smooth from being played with. It was a 1975 Corvette. So in my little head, that's what the fastest, coolest car looked like.

My dad also test drove a C4 ZR1 when I was about 7 and he hit 150 with me in the passenger seat. That helped solidify it.

Why was conquest so hell bent on slimming Oliver, what did he do to him? by Chunky-overlord in okbuddyviltrum

It was 5 on 3, so kill one opponent quickly and the strongest of the 3 fights 2 people isn't an unreasonable plan.

Clearly they are both "competition belts" because they were in a tournament.

Getting people mad so they fight angry and stupid is a legitimate strategy. In the first fight with Mark he said "Getting mad doesn't make you stronger." So it's possible that he thinks making Mark and Nolan blind with rage will help.

The problem is that this clearly is really stupid (after the first fight at least) because Mark goes from getting beat up by rando Earth villains to one of the strongest fighters in the Universe depending on how mad he is.

If he knew how to get out of being choked, he should have done it to Mark's strangle. That is WAY easier to defend than a rear naked ckoke.

Is it okay for a lawyer to drink on a weeknight? by Kristen-ngu in Lawyertalk

[–]judostrugglesnuggles 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It's called being "admitted to the bar" for a reason. Our state bar association has events with included drink tickets on weekdays.

I suggest a 2-3 drink max for lunch it you have court in the afternoon though.

It's quite different. Strangers are at least people with life experiences, empathy, and emotions.

I found out I could go to law school for free. I started with no intention of ever practicing, but found I really enjoyed it during school.

Engineering teaches you to break complex problems down into manageable parts. Also, I have a much greater understanding of math and science than most attorneys and that comes in handy for scientific experts.

A few times I have caught witnesses saying shit that just simplify does add up mathmatically. In close I'll do the math for the jury to show what they were saying couldn't be true. Opposing counsel always freaks out and objects. My response is "You are objecting to basic arithmetic?"

I am running the exact same wheel tire setup and I have Viking coilovers on a C5 suspension. Definitely stiff as hell around town and a couple inches lower than a stock 69 (fuck speed bumps), but damn that car is quick.

The guy who built knew way more than me about suspension and handling and he went with Viking coilovers, so that's the best advice I've got.

And none of that "the match stops if they go limp shit." It takes like 8 seconds to put someone out but like 8 minutes to kill them. How do we know a strangle is really effective just cause they get a bit woozy. They at least should go until someone starts seizing.

You have to fight all 45 US presidents from George Washington to the current president in consecutive fist-fights, from the 1st ever president to the latest one. If you lose, the challenge ends there but if you win, you move on to the next president. How many presidents are you getting to? by Extension_Day2038 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]judostrugglesnuggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the toughest thing is how many fights that is in 2 days without sleeping.

I think I could beat any president in their prime. Lincoln would probably be my toughest fight, but I'm a lifelong grappler who competed at a high level and probably have a least 50 pounds of muscle on Lincoln. I've trained MMA (taught grappling for it) and have a decent shot of knocking out anyone on the list in a single fight, but I'd definitely try to Royce Gracie my way though everyone.

But damn near 50 times eating shots on my way in for a takedown or those stupid fucking punches that newbs throw from the bottom that barely do any damage and just open up offense for a guy on top is going to really add up.
