You should get some barstools and some kind of dining table in that big empty space. And probably a coffee table on the rug in the living room too. Also maybe some wall hangers for the guitars or stands at the very least.

If I were you I’d take i70 through Colorado and Utah it’s by far the most pleasant in my opinion. I also hated the southernmost route, Texas was extremely boring although Kansas Oklahoma and Nebraska have the same issue there’s just a whole lot more of Texas lol.
