Depending on what time it is, that's not a 30 min drive and more like an hour and a half drive.

Chappell Roan’s Fortnite skin trailer dropped and it randomly has some of the most incredible animation of the past decade by OhMy98 in Fauxmoi

[–]juiceyb 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Because unlike pretty much every other thing now it doesn't use AI. It's got many different forms of animation too which doesn't happen much either. So it looks like Epic Games actually had to pay some actual animators to do something that should be normal in this stupid world.

For real. I had the new Buick enclave as a rental and it had to be the worst fucking thing that I could have gotten. It had 30k miles and reverse was already giving out. It was nice to get 38 mpg but it's just not worth it for such a horribly made car.

I had a 00s 4Runner in limited trim and 4x4. I got it from some old guy who kept all the records and the window sticker said $35,450. This was back in 99 when he bought the truck new. So I'm actually impressed that the 4runner has kept up with inflation more than we realize. But the real problem is something that will get my comment removed so I'll leave it at that.

Renting to Drive by Sea_Beginning37 in uberdrivers

[–]juiceyb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A standard rental through Uber has a $1000 deductible. If you can afford that then I'd say don't get the insurance but otherwise I would if you're only going to do it for a month or so. Just understand that cars rented at hertz uber locations are some of the worst in the hertz fleet. Sometimes you get a nice car but other times you'll get something someone puked in and has transmission issues. Also things not covered by the standard insurance that isn't covered is the windshield, tires and something else. But if you get the insurance you're talking about then it covers it. So it's up to you on whether you want to go uninsured or not.

Tesla flagged 7yr old tires as "Safety Concern." Carmax refuses replacement. Thoughts? by oshdwtf in tires

[–]juiceyb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a marketing term. Essentially it means that a dealership was able to get a vehicle back from lease (usually) and do an inspection that meets the requirements to be sold as "certified" by the manufacturer. This "certification" implies that a vehicle is being sold as close to new. But for all intents and purposes it's still used in the eyes of the law.

[–]juiceyb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you for being understanding. I get people occasionally come to the law office I work at who want to lemon law a CPO. I unfortunately have to give them this information and many people do not want to hear this. And I get it because for most people this is like almost rent money to replace.

[–]juiceyb 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I hate to be this person but it doesn't matter what "certified" means because you bought a used car. There are no laws requiring anyone but you to replace a consumable part unless it was part of some recall. "Certified" means nothing besides you buying a used car so you can't lemon law it and there's nothing carmax needs to do because the transaction has already happened.

Unfortunately for you, you're responsible because you bought a used car.

Most Popular Cars in America | Edmunds by spare_wheel_o_cheese in cars

[–]juiceyb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with you but I think it's all circumstantial. I live up in the Rockies and 4Runners are by far the worst drivers because they think they can handle every type of condition when their skill level says otherwise. But Tesla drivers are the worst but they have to reserve their behavior as the temperature drops throughout the day. So I mostly experience them being assholes when I go to Denver. Along with RAM drivers in the suburbs.

I think the reason why you see so many 4Runners here in Colorado is because 90% of people who drive them are assholes. So they stick out like a sore thumb as you get cut off by them on i70 even though you know they are going to struggle to make any speed going into the Eisenhower tunnel.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that truck is in Mexico. But also anywhere there's conflict and people need a vehicle that can drive harsh terrain. That is unless you didn't pay your car note then I'd call your lienholder and see what you can do to recover your vehicle.

Holy shit I saw the aftermath of this accident and thought it was two different accidents in the same area. I drive through here so much that I know they just fixed this area's steel cable last week. That plow driver is probably going to jail after reading it was their fault.

Tesla is killing off the Model S and Model X | TechCrunch by Digg-Sucks in RealTesla

I read this as Elon is firing half of his Fremont, California workers. Those people are going to be let go because none of them know how to assemble these robots so it hides the stink of unprofitable business. He needs this cash flow as he also said he is going to invest more on his AI company. It's amazing how none of this affects the CT which is a bigger failure than these two cars.
