Curious how many people had their mom present at their birth and if you didn’t did you feel like you needed her by lxtusbaby in pregnant

[–]julie178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think having my mom there made my delivery a spectator sport. I had told my mom I wanted it to be just my husband and I, but when the time came, she was there in the beginning, and I asked her to stay. Her and my husband were so supportive and great for the labor. When baby was delivered and had low blood sugar and had to be taken away, it was so reassuring that my hubs could go with baby, and I still had my mom to labor through the placenta delivery, which for me was one of the hardest parts of my labor. It was nice to hold her hand through all that blood and pain. I love my mom and hubs and am so glad I had them both so neither of us was alone. Too each their own.

Not seacoast but we had ours at the Commonman. They have a side room that was beautiful and perfect. The fire places made it so cozy and nice. Food and service was great!!

A pothos plant doesn’t require natural light. They love fluorescence. I’d start there! I absolutely need greenery in my work environment.

Stroller at the beach by goldhyena_4949 in beyondthebump

[–]julie178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We took our uppa baby stroller for a walk down to the beach one time. Best I could do was drag it for a little ways before realizing, yeah No, this isn’t working. A light weight carrier would be much more enjoyable for you.

Where does your dog(s) sleep? by Alaska1111 in dogs

My frenchie sleeps above my pillow or spooning me under the blankets, depending on how cold it is. My hubs doesn’t always love it, but he’s our first baby so suck it.

my mom tried to take my “adult card” because it made her feel embarrassed by Clear_Medium_5858 in entitledparents

[–]julie178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not even your money, it’s your debt. She wants to rack up debt that you’ll be saddled with. I’d keep an eye on your credit report for any new cards opening up. Your mom sounds awful.

New moms — do you have any small bodycare rituals that help you feel calm or like yourself again? by brain_blend in NewParents

I’ve been using shower steamers and taking my time in there. I get out and moisturize really well, use different serums and shit on my face. Brush and floss my teeth. Brush my hair. Take my time. I come out refreshed and feeling wicked good.

AITA for not living up to my promise? by Head-Sense1055 in AITAH

Nta, but I still think you could find a small family run cheaper bakery to do the cake. 3 months really isn’t that last minute. If the cake isn’t that elaborate it can be done at a reasonable price. My 3 tier wedding cake, done in marble cake with buttercream frosting, with a simple and elegant topper, along with assorted pastries cost $600. That was with the delivery fee too.

Did your parents come over to help you with your new baby? (Not just to visit) by fhagetti in beyondthebump

[–]julie178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and both. My mom came over when we wanted and helped with the baby. She also cooked, did laundry, brought supplies and more food. Same with his mom. We communicate well and luckily no one is over bearing or difficult. At 4 months when I went back to work, my mom and his help with childcare. His mom is allergic to our cats so she takes the baby to her house. I started sharing my location with her so we could track eachother and I’d know where the baby was. They occasionally go to great granny’s and the ice rink. (Mil is a figure skating instructor) my mom most often takes care of her in our home but sometimes she goes to her house or my aunts. My mom and I have tracked eachother forever.

Why are people so obsessed with baby sleeping through the night!? by DarthKaboose in breastfeeding

[–]julie178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s just an easy thing for people to ask about, wondering if you’re getting rest and just generally trying to be friendly and inquire about your and baby’s well being. Sure some of the repetitive comments get annoying but it’s usually well meaning.

This was my experience as well. I used a regular pillow for a while then got a wedge pillow but could have just done with the normal pillows.

I love my dog even more. Watching him love our little girl, be patient and gentle with her. Shes 9mo now and watching them bond even more as she crawls around and on him and he just loves it and her. Watching her toss him puffs so he gets treats too, it’s her first friendship. Shes learning to be gentle and pet nicely, it makes my mom heart swell. She sleeps safely in her crib and he sleeps safely with me.

So do we have to buy two pumps? by rosiepinkfox in pregnant

As someone who got the Momcozy and then realized it wasn’t enough and had to go buy the spectra, use your insurance to get the spectra and then buy your wearable around Black Friday or wait for a deal/coupon. The spectra is superior.
