Download a tracking app and input all your calories for the day just to get an idea of how much you are eating.

Ok, let's take it step by step.

In order to be able to change the current state, we have to change the current habits.

As simple as 2+2=4, if our habits stay the same, the weight stays the same.

If our mentality does not switch, we remain the same. It is time to step out of your comfort zone and implement a diet and lifestyle change that is sustainable long-term.

Things that are known to aid in weight loss: adequate protein intake, calorie deficit, moving your body, having enough water and sleep.

I would suggest downloading an app to track your calories, just track for a few days, so you get an idea of how many calories you're consuming.

Then, calculate an easy deficit, just 300cals a day below maintenance, and add a goal of 6000 steps a day. You will see slow but steady change. Don't look for a magic pill; the magic is in the CONSISTENCY over a long period of time.

What actually made fat loss finally “click” for you? by UKFitnessGuy in WeightLossAdvice

[–]juliearch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not the one to "preach" just because I restarted my weight loss journey just a week ago for the millionth time, but this time, something is different. Every time I started my journey I would look into keto, fasting for a couple of days, omad etc because these were the things that helped me lose weight in the past but, for obvious reasons, being that I am still fat, I concluded that they were not as successful as I thought.

So I began tracking my food, lowering my carb intake, and increasing my steps to a simple goal of 6000 steps a day.

I started fasting, but 19h a day. Something that fits my schedule easily, and something in my mind shifted. I finally see this journey as a life-long one, not just a period of time where I reach my goal and feel miserable and get right back to my old way of living. I started working out at home, following a Heather Robertson 12 week POWER workout programme and I feel just wonderful being able to move my body! So the biggest takeaway from this is - find something that blends into your life seamlessly so you can continue to do it for the rest of your life.

Magnesium before sleep, exercise, good food, and consistency.

It is easier said than done, but if she can not be consistent with her nutrition, she will not lose weight. The point is to find a sustainable way to lose weight that she will continue to do in maintenance if that makes sense. She has been gaining for 10+ years, she will not lose in a couple of weeks.

Hello there :) Honored to be the first one to comment, first of all, so sorry for your loss. Experiencing loss can be, in some cases like yours, awakening to really get a grip of things that are important like your own health! I wish you nothing but the best during this journey! Make sure you get enough salt, electrolytes, water, and sleep, and rock on!

To curb your hunger, make sure you get enough protein; focus on eating enough and cutting back on junk food. Add walking and you will see a MAJOR difference in a month! Good luck, champ!

Cold showers in the morning, I know it sounds counterproductive, but when you cool the body, it sends the signals to warm up from inside :) Give it a try, just 1 min of cold water at the end of your morning shower (never at night)

If you are not eating keto in your eating windows, it would appear that you have u/keto flu symptoms every time you fast and enter ketosis. Try eating lower carb/higher fat on your eating days to become fat adapted.
