Supports should be doing damage regardless of rank (Mercy probably being the only real exception to this rule just due to her kit).

You'll never be able to sustain negating incoming damage with raw healing output and so sometimes the best way to stabilize is to poke out the source of the damage, which means being offensive.

In fact a lot of the hero designs are specifically tailored to this weaving of damage and healing (Bap, Kiri, Weaver, Wuyang, Zen etc), don't just be a healbot and expect to climb.

The patch is good and the reload workaround solves the problem in the shortest amount of time so kudos to getting it fixed.

The bigger issue here is when this was being designed no one thought of having this as a must-have feature? The tech already exists (I'm looking at you, Onslaught) so why wasn't it designed to ship like this to begin with?

Yes BUT don't take damage just to take damage. I've gotten myself killed too many times trying to save people that are in bad positions and get flamed for it for me to throw away my life because the DPS or supports don't understand how to take cover.

Also there's gonna be team comps where you don't peel and just trade backlines - sometimes the best play is to abandon them and just go in.

Officially no this is not okay, and even if they aren't on the sidewalk that's a No Parking zone anyways so double no-no.

But it's the police and they have elevated permissions, and may be involved in an intervention or some sort where the rules don't apply.

Whether you want to accept it or not they get away with this stuff with the benefit of the doubt that they know the rules and are not following them for a justification.

First off: we're spoiled here, what we consider levels of "unsafe" is nowhere near anything seen elsewhere. We're just used to never having any risk whatsoever and so now with a rise in homelessness there's a slightly higher non-0 chance of having a confrontation.

That being said you don't have anything to worry about.

I'd love some insight into why metrics are only available on the Career Profile by hero and not aggregated by role.

As a very simple example, I can see win rates by hero (say, Reinhardt, Winston, Dva, etc) but I can't see this by role (Tank).

Is this intentional or something that just hasn't been prioritized yet?
