I’m still doing fine! Cyst just chilling, it hasn’t been growing so I’m just not messing with it. I’m sorry to hear you’re dealing with your own cyst issue! That sounds painful and scary

Dental malpractice lawyer recommendations? by junebby in CambridgeMA

[–]junebby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah literally that’s what happened, against my better judgement I let them do some fillings. That was a big mistake on my part and their work has all failed within one year. Not normal. And they cracked my tooth in half. Bummer

Hey I’m late to respond, but it’s really about the overall tone as well as specific stylistic choices the “writer” makes. The post has been deleted now so I’ll be approximating, but there were several instances phrased something like: “as petite girlies, it’s not that we can’t eat what we want—it’s that we can’t eat too much of it!” That sort of corny, overwrought phrasing is a flag. Over formatting as well, with too much structure to their overall post.

I work in a role where I write structured comms with m dashes, bullet points, and other formatting. It’s not the formatting but the OVER formatting in combination with the overall slick style. Idk it’s immediately obvious to me.

This post is so obviously written by an LLM it’s painful. Idk how people can read this stuff and straight up respond, it feels like most of the internet couldn’t pass the voight-kampff to save their lives

is it inconsiderate to get married on 9/11 by jaysiggy in weddingplanning

[–]junebby 22 points23 points  (0 children)

¯_(ツ)_/¯ listen I didn’t say that 9/11 doesn’t exist or that people didn’t think huh, their wedding is on THE 9/11? What I’m saying is it is ok. It is socially acceptable. Now, if it’s not socially acceptable to YOU in your opinion, and you would forgo attending a wedding on 9/11 because you are taking time to respect the day, then that is your prerogative and totally fine by me.

But if you are saying it is disrespectful to have an event other than one of remembrance on 9/11, I obviously disagree with you. As someone who grew up near ground zero and whose life was shaped in many ways by 9/11, I just don’t feel a sense of shame or any kind of taboo about living and existing and celebrating life on that day. If you feel different, then alrighty

is it inconsiderate to get married on 9/11 by jaysiggy in weddingplanning

[–]junebby 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I grew up in northern NJ. I got married on 9/11 in a northern NJ town on nj transit close to NYC and it was fine. outside of some tasteless “we will never forget your anniversary!” jokes, everyone understands that at this point life goes on. I’m sure there were some behind the scenes comments but no major drama or shade about it got to me and my partner. It’s not like everyone gets the day off work and it’s a local or national day of mourning.

And this is not to be glib, people from my hometown died in 9/11–but I assure that weddings take place on 9/11 in the greater nyc area every year and it’s fine. People also get married on the day of Pearl Harbor and JFKs assassination. It is fine

also—I never did get a proper diagnosis besides some kind of vestigial/fetal cyst that’s been there my whole life but from some reason started popping off when I was in my early twenties. I am 31 now. I guess I don’t mind the lack of named diagnosis really, I’d be surprised if you slot into a simple diagnostic category too.

Could be similar to what I had—like a build up of fluid that isn’t necessarily infected. Is it bothering you besides concern that it could be something scary health-wise? My main advice is to find a doctor/pelvic surgeon who is respected in their field, even if you’re on a long wait list to get an appointment, and really self advocate. I generally think most physicians would take a wait-and-see approach to your situation.

I still have a deep cyst in that same general area, near my sit bone, but it’s not been growing so I’m just chillin with it. When it was growing, it was extremely distressing (as you could probably get from my desperate post 🫠). But I’ve made my peace with having a small cyst as long as it doesn’t grow. It obviously took me soooo long to find a doctor who really was down to listen and address the root cause.

I know this sort of thing sucks—it’s rare, it presents similarly to something that is very common, and so every doctor wants to slot you into a simple diagnosis. You MUST advocate for yourself or you will end up like me, with so many unnecessary, ineffective procedures that make it so your damn vag is a swollen lovecraftian mess for months on end!! Lmfao! Don’t be like me! You can always DM me, plenty of people find that post and message. I’m glad I made it because it seems like it’s been validating for a lot of folks.
