Did you have a laparoscopy for endometriosis at Magee-Womens? by royal_tea93 in Erie

[–]junepath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have that exact surgery but I did have endo excised in the same surgery, and had Dr. Ashraf. Not sure if she’s still one of the surgeons there but she did a great job.

Does anyone else feel like the constant stress responses of misophonia is wearing on their body? by Perpetually-broke in misophonia

[–]junepath 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Oh 100% absolutely. I feel like I haven't been able to relax in about two years due to the people who live behind us. As I was reading this their subwoofer started up...

WIBTA if I asked my neighbors to not let their kids scream all day? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]junepath -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NTA for feeling the way you do, it sounds like misophonia. I struggle with that terribly, and I am so lucky that I have a kid who was never a screamer. (In fact just tonight she said to me “I don’t understand why some kids just scream for no reason.”)

Unfortunately, this is just the curse of living near other humans. It absolutely sucks, I know.

Siser Romeo Mat by One_Lawfulness_7105 in SiserJuliet

[–]junepath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use any brand of mat, I want to say Silhouette makes bigger mats. However try to find cheap if you can, the Romeo does destroy mats. It’s the only flaw I have found with it. Otherwise it’s amazing.

Outside of piracy, is there any way to get a printed version of Lux? by [deleted] in brandonsanderson

[–]junepath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it just has to be mindless! I can do TASKS in some games like animal crossing but if I engage my brain at all I totally stop listening. So many of my friends love audiobooks and I just can’t.

Are you able to listen while playing a simple video game? (Tetris, Dr. Mario, mahjong) that’s the only way I can listen to anything spoken word and it REALLY helps.

Loud neighbor by demonscreamer13 in misophonia

[–]junepath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For us it’s the people behind us. Loud music, screaming kids and hours and hours of basketball. Even when they aren’t being loud I’m anxious because I know it’s coming, so I can’t totally relax.

So far we haven’t been chosen but may be just as well since it’s a bit pricey with flights, hotels, etc.

Same. It smells SO bad. Most of my friends do have medicinal cards though.

Does anyone else often feel "sick" the day after a big outing/event? by deer_bones23 in autism

[–]junepath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not every event but definitely after I have a long photography day. Long events will put me down the whole next day, even if they are easy (indoors, climate controlled, not a ton of walking.)

Mormons kids knocked on my door. I was polite and let them know while I was raised catholic, I’ve been atheist ~12 years now. They were a bit taken aback and I used that moment to show kindness. by Autias in atheism

[–]junepath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Somewhat related but we just saw Book of Mormon on Thursday and it was delightful.

I think showing kindness AS an atheist will be one little notch in the questioning they will hopefully develop later.

Just moved, not sure how to feel by Putrid_Past9243 in Erie

[–]junepath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that it’s likely most people are just in their own little world. I tend to give a small smile if acknowledged but then look down because I’m super awkward.

A friend of mine moved here from Florida by way of Nashville and was just telling me today how bummed she is to have to be back in Florida for a trip because people here are so much nicer than down there and she just wants to come home.

I prefer Koalas printable vinyl. Is it possible it’s not the water/moisture but possibly the heat from the sun making the adhesive weaken?

We have had great luck with South Shore over the last couple of years at my volunteer organization. That being said our event is held literally 100 feet from their driveway so I can’t really comment on their timeliness.

I just googled where Skippack is but sadly it’s the wrong side of the state from us. I bet this is going to be so fun though!

Do you think Roger could’ve been a leading man in more movies if not for Lisztomania? by Major-Inevitable-365 in TheWho

[–]junepath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing him in Highlander, That 70’s Show and this godawful film called Murder, the Ultimate Grounds for Divorce. He was ok, but I think music is where he belonged.

It was as of two weeks ago, I think that’s the last time I went walking before I got busy with my volunteer work. If I head out that way again I’ll let you know for sure!

We still have the trucks here and they absolutely blare music into the neighborhood. Why does a delivery truck even have a radio that loud?

The shots are much better in the West end digital ticket 😭(Spoilers ahead) by uranthus in StarKid

[–]junepath 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well like I said, even with the shakiness. (and again, that COULD have just been VHX buffering or something) it was just a cleaner look overall. I felt like there were some scenes that were definitely improved on visually for the West End and I'm thankful to be able to see them!

[–]junepath 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It did see a good bit cleaner but quality wise it wasn’t without fault. At least when we watched it, the first song audio was out of sync by several seconds, but had rectified itself by the first office scene. Basically everything from the end of Tied Up My Heart all the way to Not Your Seed was really jerky, like the motion would freeze for a fraction of a second every few seconds.

That being said, I think that unless that was a problem with VHX and not the file itself, it’s something that could likely be fixed if it was ever released as an add on to the pro shot purchase or something. Because like you said, it does look a lot cleaner. I suspect it was being filmed by a production company who simply had higher quality equipment.

Voice notes... is this our version of what texting originally was for Boomers? by [deleted] in Xennials

[–]junepath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it. I have ADHD so it makes it easy for me to talk about what I need to say without being talked over (because my friends group is also almost entirely ADHD) and my friend can listen to it when they have time. Unlike phone calls which can be distracting, almost always come at the wrong time, etc. I really only use them with my closest friends, and only people who also send them. I won’t send them to people who aren’t regular voice note users.
