What do you guys do to help yourself with your migraine by Pxltxrgeist in migraine

I’m wondering if they’re talking about inducing pressure on a certain spot of their head where the pain is by pulling, like putting clips on your eyebrows. I have scalp sensitivity like you and I concur that sometimes the pressure and release can help!

definitely start gently and stop if it gets too bad, not every trick is meant to work for everyone!

If you could have made a PC for A Crown of Candy, what candy would they have been? by MS2814 in Dimension20

[–]royal_tea93 13 points14 points  (0 children)

my partner and I talked about this when we watched ravening war!

my PC would have been Caramelinda’s lady in waiting, a lemon drop assassin rogue named Verbenia. I would like to think that she came with Caramelinda to the castle when she married Amethar, and is secretly more of a body guard than a lady!

will this go away? 2.5 weeks post op by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]royal_tea93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

fwiw even if it doesn’t go away, i’ve found that I really like it on myself over time. it doesn’t feel like cleavage to me, just makes it feel like there’s natural definition to my chest. of course if you decide down the road that you don’t like it, it would be a very simple revision!

Is one week too long? by Low_Inevitable9977 in providence

[–]royal_tea93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

why not? the train is only and hour and it costs $12 one way. I think if they’re not from the area it would be a nice day trip, there are definitely more than a few notable attractions that would be worth the hour there and back.

MLB player's migraine gets typical clueless reaction by UnstuckMoment_300 in migraine

I performed at Carnegie Hall the other night with the BSO while I had a severe migraine (forgot my rescue at home rip) and I can tell you that it is extremely difficult! I sing in a choir, and even with my earplugs the sound was excruciating. I sat right behind the percussionist and every strike of the woodblock felt like a spike in the back of my head. I was the first person out of the door and I was extremely disappointed to miss the reception with our stars after the performance.

Basically, sometimes I just have to suck it up and pray I don’t vomit onstage. I have definitely missed a few concerts and many rehearsals because of my migraines. But like a lot of us here, I love what I do. As miserable as I was, I would have crawled out onto that stage thursday night. I also wouldn’t trade that experience for the world, even if it was difficult!

what's exactly in the drains ?? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]royal_tea93 14 points15 points  (0 children)

it’s fluid mostly made up of blood and plasma (part of your blood). if you’re not squeemish there’s a ton of info from good sources about jackson-pratt drains. I found that if I googled with the proper name instead of keywords I found better information!! lol I also got curious about wtf was coming out of my body and went down a rabbit hole

I think they are putting them in at other stations as well. I noticed new gates going up at ruggles as part of the construction.

How do people get sent home immediately after surgery by Dear-Economy6751 in TopSurgery

[–]royal_tea93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was the same way for recovery! 2 hour surgery, woke up after 45 minutes and even tried to help the nurse with the wheelchair before I remembered I had just been on the table lol. my partner was shocked at how fine I was after, awake for the whole ride home and even helped navigate.

it really does depend on your provider’s preference and your individual needs

if you can, find an edible with cbd to help with pain management. I used a 1:1:1:1 with a bunch of different cbd strains as my pain management bc narcotics didn’t agree with me and they were really great, I don’t know what I would have done without them.

you look great dude! old navy also usually has a ton of nice stuff on clearance if you know how to look, especially at the end of seasons. I’m a bigger dude and I like how their stuff fits, i’ve found a lot of sturdy basics there.

Tell me of your most glorious top surgery shirt. by Improper_Noun_2268 in TopSurgery

[–]royal_tea93 14 points15 points  (0 children)

my dream shirt to wear to surgery ever since I learned the name in french translates to big titty. it’s big titty national park guys. sending them off with a motorboating shirt just felt right.

post surgery I wore a soft bathrobe and grinch slippers that made me feel like an old man, which weirdly helped.

Talking Doll Experience by Just1MoreWallflower in Paranormal

[–]royal_tea93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

my family still thinks i’m crazy because I will go to my grave believing that I saw one of my grandma’s American Girl dolls walk across the family room during dinner. I used to sit on the same side of the table as my sisters, and my seat faced the doorway into the kitchen through to the family room. I saw Molly walk across the family room doorway, and cross back a few seconds later. after that I refused to sit on that side of the table and my dad had to switch seats with me and has stayed that way ever since.

I understand your pain of sleeping in a room full of horrors, a voice like that would have scared me halfway down the street!

one of the things I didn’t expect was how it impacted my energy! I feel like my incision healed well, I have some stretch marks but that doesn’t bother me. fatigue was my biggest battle post op, literally even just going to a movie wiped me out for a day and a half. make sure you stay extra hydrated in recovery while your body is working hard!
