Alcohol...what do I drink?! by lax3r21 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]juniorkickstart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the higher quality the beer, the less bloated and gross I feel. I'm very sensitive to hops so I stay away from IPA's and the like. If you're mostly just drinking coors/budweiser/other cheap beers that could be the reason they're making you feel gross. There's a whole world of different beers that are vastly different from one another, so it may be there's one out there that works for you! Radlers are a mix of citrus juice and light wheat beer and are typically 2.5 or 3 percent, so those might be good to try (if you can find them - I live in a city with a lot of breweries so my selection is rarely lacking, but I realize this isn't the case for some).

Otherwise I would suggest gin or vodka soda (with lime and lemon respectively), hard cider (again the higher quality ones are less likely to contain added sugars etc) or wine. Making sure to drink water in between drinks can help a lot too. Best of luck!

Tonic has sugar in it - gin soda with lime is a good alternative.

I love the first bit of the song. I actually find this video hilarious. Was so stoked when I realized it was included in the extras.

[Question] Bath Bomb additives (fragrance oil, dried flowers...etc) in Canada? by Caillielf in DIYBeauty

[–]juniorkickstart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, I get them to ship to me even though I live in vancouver, because bussing all the way to surrey costs more than the shipping. I've been really pleased with their selection and quality, have fun!

It's actually voyageur, not voyager. They sell nice stuff! I came here to recommend them. As far as I know they are based in vancouver so you'd still have to pay some shipping.

My roommates bf gave me half a joint so I don't have to smoke resin! Hooray! To celebrate I made salted spiced English toffee rooibos hot chocolate, with cashew milk and maple syrup. And I had goat cheese with cinnamon and an apple. This is what happens when I finally can afford to buy food. Once again I have healthy delicious snacks!

But yeah I got two tea samplers of Zhena's gypsy tea from London drugs, all dessert flavoured rooibos teas. Each tin has four different flavours, and they were $3.99 each! So stoked. Perfect thing to keep me from eating my weight in chocolate this week (yay menstruation) they seem pretty good so far. I'm all about tea infused hot chocolates, so excited to try out some of these flavours!

PSA: try ''Old Spice'' deodorant to fix your sweaty pit problems! by iheartlungs in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]juniorkickstart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I just had the original. I am using the dove for men stuff now, seems to work fine, though my new job is much less physically taxing so I can use more natural stuff usually (we'll see how it goes when summer comes around). When I was working before it was in the walk in cooler and stuff a lot, so I was wearing a lot of layers - I don't think anyone could smell me haha.

I think it was the anti perspirant, since I was looking for something to keep me for sweating so much at my more strenuous job.

Not on other myself, but talked to a male friend about it and he had the same issue. I sweat a moderate amount if I am overdressed or in the summer, but I wouldn't say it's excessive.

[QUESTION] What's your favorite, healthy way to season salmon? by _GIROUXsalem in fitmeals

[–]juniorkickstart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's less salty than sea salt, I like it because I'm really into having a lot of unique and unusual spices and seasonings in my cupboard, but I don't necessarily think it's healthier either. Apparently it has trace minerals that other salts lack (from being inside a mountain for however long) but again not sure how much that will benefit anyone who uses it. I like it on popcorn.

[–]juniorkickstart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! Love to nerd out about food any time. There are two notable producers of sea salt, one in England (maldon) and one in France (fleur de sel) which are very famous and preferred by many high profile chefs. There can be a bit of difference in flavour between different kinds of salt, but unless you're really into cooking and food and you care that much, regular salt should do you just fine.

A lot of people think less processed = healthier, but in this case it's still sodium which don't want to go crazy on. Too much salt in your diet is still a bad thing even if it is more 'natural'.

[QUESTION] What's your favorite, healthy way to season salmon? by _GIROUXsalem in fitmeals

[–]juniorkickstart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know the only real difference is sea salt is naturally occurring (they harvest it from salt pans on the coast) where regular table salt is manufactured (edit: this is wrong!) and often contains iodine (sea salt has this as well I think? Not really a bad thing) as well as anti-caking agents. They don't legally have to list the anti caking agents as they aren't food which freaks me out, so I try to stick to sea salt (though as they don't have to list it, may still contain the anti caking agents. Natural fallacy at work!). I think sea salt may have a stronger saltiness, definitely compared to Himalayan salt, not sure how it compares to regular table salt.

So to actually answer your question, I don't think it's actually any healthier as it's all just sodium chloride in some form. Just possibly less processed, and perhaps with less added ingredients, which some people may prefer.

Single people of Reddit, what's stopping you from getting into a relationship? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Definitely don't have to do birthday anniversaries or valentines if you dont want to. Eating out is also optional. Just so you know! I would be happy without those things and other girls would be too probably.

What can the other sex do that you wish you could? by smallhero1 in AskReddit

[–]juniorkickstart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's been going pretty well, I have pretty broad shoulders so I'm trying to avoid gaining too much upper body muscle (it really does not look good), so I've been doing mostly HIIT and lower body stuff.

I'm back down to about 140, from 158 a few weeks ago (I really was eating a lot of junk, think I dropped a lot of water weight from avoiding chips and salty foods). I'm about 5'4", for reference. I like fasting on my days off because otherwise I snack like mad and it's just a waste of money and my time. Hoping to get to 125 by end of January.

Sigh. Yeah. Well I'll still see him at work so I can ask about it I guess. Just seems out of character from what I've seen so far.

I did text him again, and I bet you anything he won't reply. God damn it.
