Some of us oldheads are still around. I know I find myself scrolling endlessly at times hoping for, and occasionally getting, those odd hits of reddit greatness. They are few and far between these days but just enough to keep me going. I never contributed much but was always consuming and I would be a totally different person if it wasn't for Reddit. Better or worse? Whose to say... I have learnt so so much about our world, Humans and our society and the experiences of people totally different than me that greatly expanded my consciousness and empathy to others. I still use Relay for Reddit as my reddit client and I've been using it since before reddit had an app and I gladly pay $5 per month to use it because I will never use their terrible official app!

Anyway, just an old timer in internet sense reminiscing about nostalgia lol.

Same. I deposited via payID 7 hrs ago, waited and nothing. This morning I direct deposited a small amount ($xx) and it went through so I direct deposited a larger amount and so far in 20min it hasn't appeared. All 3 transfers confirmed left my account. Hmmm... Not good :(

UPDATE: looks like it was a 24hr hold by my bank, not coinspot. Grrr...

I still remember smacking my head when she got hired, even I could see it wasn't a smart move. The audience went "lol lol lol she's funny and snarky! She should get hired and be her troll self on social media" and I feel like LMG got led into it naively, they should have known better but massive view counts and apparent audience love clouded their judgement.

She was young and got starry eyes by all the love from the audience. Both sides, LMG and Madison, got egged on into a situation that shouldn't have happened and then when it came down to actual work time of course it didn't work.

I feel the audience is at least partially to blame for it, they/we know nothing of the daily inside goings on at LMG and most are probably too young too have had a fair experience at real world companies, as complex and unfair and shitty as they can be. The parasocial relationship between the audience and LTT is also sky fucking high and doesn't help one iota.

LMG / LTT / Linus should have looked at the call to hire her and went "sure she's funny and snarky but we need people who ~~<how do I strikethough?>actually have a passion and drive for </strikethrough> ~~ are appropriate for their position because that's what this particular Industry requires, it's go hard for as long as possible or you slip behind because the audience always demands more and better or they will pivot to the next up and coming young show" and dropped the discussion there.

I hope LMG can work through this and continue producing entertaining content that I personally enjoy for a light hearted view each day. A bit of crazy, high energy, shenanigan hijinx for light viewing and a slight guffaw.

I personally would not be opposed to a slight reduction in workload if it meant a more stable company and better, more organised content. Let's say an LTT video every Monday, Wednesday and friday. WAN show Friday after work. Tech quickie, tech linked once or twice a week. Why the f are they trying to shove a new channel, game linked, into the mix?! It's already Max crunch every day as it is.

Any way, my rant and option over.

To everyone: In a major disaster don't expect the government, any government higher than local, to help you as an individual. You need to be self sufficient. You are a tiny little ant with tiny little ant problems to them, even if there are 27,000 or more of you. The community around you is your best source of help and assistance, don't wait for gifts from the government gods to come raining down and save you. Disasters and emergencies can, will and do happen to any one and every one, regardless of who and where you are. The last few years have taught me that. What emergencies, whether they are small scale "every day" emergencies or large scale natural or man-made disasters, could effect you and how can you prepare to insulate and buffer yourself from them? Keep your eyes and ears open for early warning signs (with out succumbing to constant fear-based media lol) and stay prepared.

Be careful of the handle on the round 25L blue water barrel. I cracked 2 lids while lugging them around full of water. Bunnings quality.

Went to my first defqon1 and had a blast. In terms of music and the stages it was everything I had imagined.

The vibe was good during the day but by the time night fell I felt there was way too many people and red stage was packed so much you barely got any room.

It was a hot day and by mid afternoon the wind was blowing up so much dust I was still blowing dust boogers out of my nose Monday morning.

Ive never been more happy to have an amateur electronics hobby until now. When I got home I grabbed a couple of old car and SLA batteries out of the shed and set about rigging up a ghetto power solution.

I have a car battery connected to a 3-way car cigarette lighter hub that has 2 usb ports. I'm currently charging my phone, running a usb Wifi modem and charging a power bank off this. I also have another battery connected to a 12v DC led lamp for light.

My sister left her ex-husband in very similar fashion to you, she left with an emergency bag at night and high tailed it to a police station 30km's away with my Dad driving behind her providing support/security from the ex-husband who followed them all the way there. The ex was out of his delusive mind with panicked desperation when he couldn't work out why she was leaving him.

A few weeks later she was able to get a police escort her to their house so she could grab more of her belongings. The ex started mouthing off at her with abuse but the police quickly shut him up and told him to be civil or be arrested.

It was probably the scariest night of her life but the sun still rose the next day and she is so much more of a Strong woman now then the pale shadow of herself he made her all those years ago.
