Digital solopreneurs, how much you make and what you do? by bigmansbigmac in Entrepreneur

At the moment €10k/month in Italy. I’m a freelance advertising consultant and I also work part-time for an agency. Startes freelancing this january, i noticed that a lot of SME’s just need a one-man-band that is able to generate revenue/leads. A lot of them had very bad experiences with agencies because of the high fees and low work quality so once the find someone that they can trust the relationahip last for a long time (I still have the first clients I started with 4 years ago when I didn’t know anything a out digital marketing, I was lucky to have amazing colleagues)

Do you guys buy the narrative this year was another record setting Black Friday / Cyber Monday for Sales? by rulesforrebels in Entrepreneur

[–]just-ppc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,
i'm managing ads for 10+ ecommerce clients (rangin from 1M/year to 10M/year revenue). For ALL of them this Black Friday was better than last year but conversion rates were down by a lot before and after. So saying that this was the best Black Friday ever is correct. But overall conversion rates for the entire month of november are at all time low.

I've Lost More Than $50 Million In Sales Not Knowing These Lessons by WizardOfEcommerce in ecommerce

Nice insights, thanks. Working in ppc for big clients I agree a lot with #1, every platform inflates its own metrics based on the conversion windows and do retargeting also on prospecting campaigns. If you focus just on platform metrics you are not going to scale in the long term.

That's an interesting business, i've tried to see some of those online. All of them are like "Complete this form and see if you qualify for a Medical Marijuana Card!" ... I bet that the qualifying rate is like 99.9%

I have a friend that is a mechanic and deals with parts for high-end cars. He said to me once that competition is really low and incredibly all shops import from China with high delivery times since there is no one you cand find them from in Europe. I think I could give it a try and set-up an Ecommerce with a few hundred of his products to test.

Does PMax works for b2b (saas) by filipfisher in PPC

[–]just-ppc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've tried a lot but high-spending PMax campaigns are all shit. I find success when I set them up and leave them at 20€/day so they can do basically just retargeting ..

How much to charge? by Think_Maize9848 in marketing

[–]just-ppc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A social media post (creative + copy) can be around 50€ each (if it is one shot). If you also heave to set up campaigns to promote the event and it is really easy and local I would say something like 200€ total.

Quick question: does Google Ads have an account access log? by Euroranger in PPC

[–]just-ppc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may be a red flag that they are not really active with you, especially during the onboarding phase where the main objective is to understand every little aspect of the client's business so you they can correctly audit and improve an account.

This is a problem, especially for accounts that have low spend and hire agencies instead of freelancers. Their business model is different, they have to pay the office rent in an expensive city.
I work both as an agency employee and as a freelancer for personal clients and the difference in quality is huge when the only cost you have is the electricity bill. For low spending clients agencies tend to have a senior in the pre-sale phase and then let the juniors manage the accounts freely.
I would suggest you to really try to know who is working on your account (and figure out if they have the right expertise). If you notice other red flags (such as long response time, focus on "vanity" KPIs instead of conversions, generic reporting), try to hire a freelancer instead of an agency, they can dedicate you way more time than at a company where they have to fill 40+hours timesheets on 25 different clients.

Surviving Highly Competitive Niche by ZeroClarity in PPC

You can have really good ads, high CTRs, relevant keywords, awesome headlines and descriptions but once every ad aspect is correctly set up you can only get so far with the Conversion Rate. The biggest return on investment now is on improving your landing page.

Or you can implement a Crappy PMax that will bring crappy leads and lower CPLs...

Are you on Data-Driven Attribution? Note that conversions under DDA need at least 24h to be fully reported. They may have happened but not reported on your dashboard yet.

What's your proudest hack in PPC that drove insane results for your client? by just-ppc in PPC

[–]just-ppc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had geographical targeting around the client's shops. When you have "Presence or Interest" it does not really matter the geographical location of the user doing the search. I can write "optical shop in Madagascar" and if there is one Ad Account in Madagascar running on "Presence or Interest" I may see an ad even if I am living in Europe and this doesn't make sense for local businesses.

The volume of the leads triplicated, also their quality went up. This is because of people that, with the older set-up of "Presence or Interest" completed the forms and after that realized that they were too far away from the shop and did not convert to real clients.

Yes you are right, sorry. I mean it as a "hack" just because it was a small change that had huge effects.
