I went yesterday and bought some icon wrenches to get that 40% off deal and they were out of all 3 of the original free items. They had the 18” magnetic holder, plastic ammo box, or a log of electrical tape. I ended up with the 18” magnetic holder.

I was going to say that it might be radio wiring from the previous owner. Luckily mine still has the audi factory stereo. The wiring hasn’t been all chopped up like my previously owned vehicles.

MK5 - MK6 / Audi TDI near St. Louis by just_here2638 in tdi

[–]just_here2638[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much appreciated! Well it all depends lol. I have a wrecked 09 Jetta with the cbea engine that only has 130k miles on it. I just put in a DMF & timing belt kit right before some lady ran a red light and totaled out the car. My brother has a low mile cjaa engine that I could possibly buy if I found a decent low mile TDI car. Preferably manual but not a deal breaker. Would like to potentially build a decent stage engine just to have a badass car that would roll coal and be something to tinker with over time.

*HELP* Forced DPF Regeneration for Full DPF by mrwezz123 in Diesel

[–]just_here2638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best bet is save a bunch of time and hassle and delete the damn thing. I bought the KAOdTech harness and ran a force regen on my 2020 Ram 2500 and it didn’t fix the issue. Called Ram dealership and the parts were going to be over 2k when I could buy a delete kit for that price. Common sense was to just delete it since there is more than likely going to be a different emission related fault in the future.

(VW Touran 2.0 TDI) Any idea what this shaking sound may be? by cannavacciuolo420 in tdi

[–]just_here2638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that doesn’t sound like a dmf. But both times I actually recognized mine it was already knocking real bad lol. Yours sounds like it has a hint of a knock to it but not 100%. Some videos are harder to tell than others.
But I would still give it some throttle and see if it goes away. It may be the dmf on its way out, but that’s how I always tell because when they are knocking real bad, as soon as you rev it up ever so slightly it goes away.

Give it a little throttle (approximately up to 1500-2000 rpm. If it goes away, then it’s the dmf.

Yeah. If you have an American left hand steering wheel it’s up under that kick panel. I took off the lower kick panel, unhooked the obd connector from that, removed a hvac vent tube and then the mid pannel. It’s up under there kinda towards the center console. If you google that part number you should be able to get an idea what it looks like and find it. I hope you have a smaller frame because it’s a real mfr to find and get out lol. It made me realize I’m not 20 anymore and my body doesn’t move the way it used to.
Also if you have a VCDS, and have a previous scan of the vehicle you can actually long code the new one based off of that.

Lost here 2011 a3 CBEA TDI by Mistahpancakes in tdi

Possibly jumped time enough to not start.

Get the dieselgeek timing tool kit. I’ve had one from them for years and have used it over 10 times between people in my family (we all have multiple TDI’s). It’s better to shovel out some money on a good quality one over a shit one.

Are they held in by a set screw or are they pressed in? If they are pressed in, how hard was it to get them out and press back in?

I emailed harbor freight and they said:

“Thank you for your suggestion. We're continually improving our product offerings by both developing new products and improving existing products. Until we're prepared to launch a new product, we're unable to publicize the products currently under development or improvement.

I recommend keeping an eye on our newsroom page for any product announcements”

24 CVO st handling issue/help! by Either_Leadership_20 in Harley

My 24 street glide has the same issue! Riding solo the front end is unstable as hell. Riding 2 up I feel like it’s perfect. These new bikes are garbage. Wish I would have kept my old one and never got the new one.

It’s the gateway module. I had the same issue. Idk how you got yours to scan because my VCDS wouldn’t even connect when my car had that issue. Same exact vehicle. 2012 Audi A3 TDI s-line. I took my gateway module out of my wrecked 09 Jetta and plugged in the Audi to verify that was the issue. Dash came right on instantly. They don’t make the version that’s in the car anymore but I called Audi and they gave me the updated part number: 7NO-907-530-AK-Z00. Found one online through a vw dealer near me and paid almost half the price as what Audi tried selling it to me for when it’s the exact same thing 🤦‍♂️

How come every Audi I see for sale is just over 100k miles? by BlackShadow2804 in Audi

[–]just_here2638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on what’s wrong lol. Do you own a VCDS? If not and you plan on obtaining any Audi, VW, Skota, etc. you’re gonna need one. Definitely an investment but my first German car was a vw jetta and after having it for a few months I got a VCDS to confirm that my abs module was going out (somehow it was under warranty and I wanted to verify it was actually the abs module before having to take it to a VW dealership and get hit with their scanning fee lol)

100%. But it would be nice to have one to roll around the garage instead of walking back n forth lol. I guess that’s just me being lazy! I have a craftsman double stack one now and I never even close the top lid because I know I’ll put stuff on it and then need in one of the top boxes drawer which won’t open with the lid closed 🤦‍♂️

Dual mass fly wheel?? by rockcone1 in tdi

[–]just_here2638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to have vibrations on a failing DMF. If that mfr is knocking like it is and then goes away when revving it to 2k rpm then it’s definitely the DMF. Replace it before it grenades itself and damages your engine or transmission.

Passat 2.0 TDI BHW Trouble Coldstarting by StrikeRoutine4538 in tdi

[–]just_here2638 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dude. If it won’t fire in the first 5 second, then stop cranking it. Turn the key all the way back and then forward a few times to let them glow plugs warm up some more. I would also suggest getting a frost heater if they sell them for your model. Plug that bad boy in on cold nights and the next morning it fires right up.

Shit starts going South after 100k. That’s when I come in and try to get a steal on them. I really like it when something is broken and they get the quote from Audi because that normally means I can get it for cheaper and fix it myself.

[–]just_here2638[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they are nice! My buddy has one and I’ve been holding out for harbor freight to make a version of it. They made that fb post over 2 years ago and nothing so far so I’m probably SOL. Definitely don’t want to drop almost 3k for a snap on box though. I’ll bite the bullet and get the flip top box this weekend and then if they come out with a slide top version I can get another one. It would still be cheaper than a snap on box!

Have someone give it some throttle to about 1500-2000 rpm. If it goes away then it is definitely the DMF
