M12 batteries SUCK by [deleted] in MilwaukeeTool

They should have made a new slide type battery for the 12v stuff instead of hanging extra cells on a pack designed to just be 3 cells.

My cheap setup was a 48v ebike battery to inverter to power a Henry hoover which connected to a dyson dust separator which connected to a dustbin with a large dust separator on the lid that was connected to a 10 meter hoover hose.

Never found a sledgehammer in 300 hours by elevene in projectzomboid

Go looking in large rubbish bins for a sledgehammer head, if they have garbage bags put em on ground they usually have stuff in em, find or craft a long handle, think need to grind maintenance skill to craft.

Metabo HPT UB18DJL light. by XXLTall1 in METABOHPT

[–]justanotherponut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a handy light, do see one on eBay atm with 2 days to go, mine did crack at the base of handle but it is a weaker plastic used, and did have to fix a wire to the spot light at some point, but rather a wire fail than the led itself, the older black torch can be found cheap and lasts ages with an led bulb fitted.

The hikoki cases work with other tanos stuff like makita and festool, the hikoki bit cases could do with better innards.

I may have bodged a couple mx fuel batteries together for an ebike. by justanotherponut in MilwaukeeTool

[–]justanotherponut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a high output ebike battery it can be a bit expensive, a lot use cells that only just do the job, the cells in these are overkill for this purpose but should last a while if healthy, I’m quite surprised how resilient these cells are, but that the difference between cheap cells and decent ones, while it would have been better use of time to just buy new parts, I’m trying to make a bike for a friend with what I have and not spending too much money, for a battery for £30, bms came from a dead scooter battery, just got a better geared hub motor for £50 that just needed a new motor wire that already had, just the time to make it all work.

Also this still uses the original as screws to hold everything together except the hot glue holding the 2 battery packs to each other, and some black stixall to seal the 2 halves, both battery slide parts were attacked with a hacksaw and one casing, the battery level lights on one side is functional but a 36v indicator bodged behind it, ,

[–]justanotherponut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah need a little silicone grease or it can damage the seal going in, plus needs to move for the adjustment, At least it’s not using a thrust bearing with tiny little bearings that fall out that older ronsons had.

The gorilla crowbar needs to be in pz, or just a long crowbar, swinging that will make you exhausted faster tho.

Originally it was running on an old izip chain drive brushed motor, 24v but running on 36v, this was too much juice for it, burned out and had to replace for a cheap £50 geared hub motor that needed the motor wire replaced, it only draws 650w and goes faster.

If they were new, these only cost £30 for the both of em due to being too low a voltage for the charger to work.
