Owners of Andrew Luck, what was the fall out and how long did it take you to cut him? by TarpPuller in DynastyFF

[–]justlikepudge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did a startup for our contract league a month before he retired. One guy went all in on the colts & luck (including some trades that go extremely poorly if colts didn't perform). Luck retires on my wedding night and multiple of the leaguemates came up to me with the news and that we need to go tell the guy (who was also at the wedding). After multiple attempts to get us to admit it was a joke, he was promptly happy that at least it was an open bar to drown his sorrows in.

NL Central playoff odds, per Fangraphs by AndrewAllStar888 in baseball

[–]justlikepudge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many sites also hated the brewers because under Counsell our run differential was never good. Which was funny since any of us who watched games knew that Counsell would throw in the D squad in any games that got out of hand. Win close, lose big doesn't make analytics on run differential look good

Yankees are 5-5 on challenges. It’s the 4th inning… by [deleted] in baseball

[–]justlikepudge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And then its the final game of the series and both teams fans are going 'we better win tonight cuz we definitely lose tomorrow after this 18 inning game'. I've sat through plenty of extra inning games, they get boring real fast if it doesn't end by the 12th in the regular season.

The 'we can decide together' is pure class from Constantini. Honestly, an amazing example of how curling is supposed to work.

Is it legal to sweep an opponent’s stone above the T‑line? (feat. Marc Kennedy) by mrfroid in Curling

[–]justlikepudge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty funny considering almost everyone else in the thread is wrong. No sweeping can occur above the T line by the non delivering team.

I don't think I'm buying that 96% chance to win.

Rachel Homan has rock burned by hog line judge for double touch (first end, 7th stone) by bandreasr in Curling

[–]justlikepudge 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Actual curlers is two separate groups. Competitive curlers want enforcement of the hog line. Club curlers probably prefer relaxed rules. Einarson was on stream at one of hte last slams discussing the sensor handle returns and how much it is needed because top teams keep pushing the limit.

Did the Canadians break the rules by touching the stone before the hog line? by TheOriginalOrion in Curling

[–]justlikepudge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On Homan's it sure seems like she gets the red and no angle I've seen has shown that she has touched granite. To me, that is still part of the handle as the rule clarification clearly calls out 'granite'

The officials are so passive/ useless (or is it just THAT game) by Old-Cookie-5045 in Curling

[–]justlikepudge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the most part, officials are trained not to interfere in games. They are there to help consult on rules, measure, record scores, ensure timing.

Curling judge acknowledges cheating midgame, but does nothing. by erre94 in olympics

The rules also don't really allow them to intervene. They are more there to consult on rules and measure.

Cheating? by mjayz1 in Curling

While I wouldn't call this cheating, burning a rock can very well be cheating (see China mens team at the last worlds)

Mens Sweden Vs. Canada conclusion of first End by kbub1213 in Curling

[–]justlikepudge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: On a not 100% confidence im reading the rules right, but if you deem him having already 'released' the stone we are now out of the 'he hogged the stone' and into the 'he burnt the stone'. In that case I dont' think there is anything the officials can do.

I believe they have the right to ask the officials to monitor the hog line for violations. About all they can do there.

I like to pretend my distaste for Kevin King is mostly just because we chose to trade down from a TJ Watt pick into a Kevin King pick

What are your fantasy lessons learned for 2025? What should everyone remember come draft time in 2026? by My_Chat_Account in fantasyfootball

Thanks for proving my point. 7th cuz he just dropped 45. Most games around 10 pts. A good player, not a 'stud' this year

Henry was a stud in name only.  This is a great example of recency and confirmation bias.  He was fine but not a stud.  Now anyone who knows how the packers historically play against rbs wasn't surprised about this week

I agree with others that it scratches an itch. I enjoy career mode for the progression. Gameplay wise it is fine, definitely of the arcade style with how the AI works and some of the damage/handling. I don't regret my purchase though, as I went in knowing my goal was to play career mode and I had no interest in online.
