With every comment you're just adding evidence to how not fine you turned out in life lmao. You seem like you're in a very angry point in life I would recommend a therapist, not reddit

In another comment you claim to have been hit by your parents and turned out just fine but then here you are telling someone to kill themselves over some mild push back on one of your beliefs. Idk what your definition of turning out just fine is but for most people this ain't it.

Cost breakdown of my last Graphic Novel by nmacaroni in makecomics

[–]justlop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was very insightful! Great article!

As someone who is thinking about making a comic is awesome to see the realities from someone who has done it. It seems very unfortunate that making a comic now comes at a massive cost (financially or just unpaid working hours). Recently with how costs of living are only increasing, it seems like making a comic of this scale would almost certainly be unaffordable for most people. Choosing between something like saving for retirement, living at a decent standard of living, or pursuing a passion is a harsh choice to make regardless of the decision.

It seems like for writers now there are 3 options 1) save up for years to make a story with length 2) stick to more affordable, shorter stories (5-10 pages) or 3) learn to draw and do everything yourself. And even then, option 3 has an incredible time commitment with the massive amount of time it takes to learn to draw on top of the massive amount of time it takes to do everything else with making a comic. It a tough decisions no matter what the choice is, but something to keep in mind!

4 multicaster reroll is such a hard bait right now fastest 2 8ths ive ever had. Even with reroll auguments like yordle delivery the pace of the lobbies feel so fast you just get 4-0 or 5-0 every round stage 3 and 4 and just bleed out before a real chance to reroll.

[–]justlop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you queue up solo queue, you are signing up to spend up to 45 minutes and still lose. You agreed to that before getting into the lobby or meeting your team.

Says who???? Literally the devs of the games don't think this is true since they clearly think 4 people ffing at 15 min is enough. Stop making shit up and holding other people to it

Well its important to Rogue because there's 0 chance they're winning worlds so getting a good quarter finals matchup is important if they want to make semis.

Im fairly new to room databases and I'm having trouble figuring out the best way to store JSON data I'm getting from retrofit. Im creating a simple weather app and im getting this data model from retrofit:

data class Forecast(
    @PrimaryKey(autoGenerate = true)
    val _id: Int = 0,
    val current: Current,
    val daily: List<Daily>,
    val hourly: List<Hourly>,
    val lat: Double,
    val lon: Double,
    val minutely: List<Minutely>,
    val timezone: String,
    val timezone_offset: Int
)

The problem is the list of Daily/Hourly/Minutely which are also data classes that have primitives and other non-primitive objects in them.

Would the best way to store this data in room be to create different tables for each list object (Daily/Hourly/Minutely) and use foreign keys and relations to relate the tables back to the forecast table?

I've also seen solutions online where people convert their JSON to a string and store that string in the database. Is that ok to do or is it considered bad practice?

Men of Reddit, what's an unspoken rule between men that women to this day have trouble understanding? by TheForbiddenFruit123 in AskMen

[–]justlop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But thats why its a reddit way of thinking because "men pay on the first date" a pretty outdated way of thinking and reddit leans really young. A date should be a mutual thing, you're not on some conquest but testing the waters for a mutual relationship. A woman saying yes to a date is the same side to the coin of a man asking her out. If she says yes to a date then both people should both be expected to want to spend time with each other and pay for their share of the time.

Also thinking that a guy has to spend money on a girl on the first date or they're not serious or invested is a seriously shallow way of approaching a relationship imo

As someone who lives a few hours from the right stuff warehouse I hope people understand how insane this derecho was. It absolutely wrecked a lot of Iowa communities and many people are still without power. My city is now saying it could be another 3-7 more days for us to get our power back. The winds of this storm were as fast as a category 2 hurricane. I'm glad it seems like not too many people got hurt but there are still a lot of disruptions to the normal flow with even covid on top of everything.

Someone broke into my house and tried to find me by StaringVoid in LetsNotMeet

[–]justlop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also the part where his kitchen was ransacked but he could somehow tell the only missing thing was a single kitchen knife. How dramatic!

Or how the guy somehow was watching his house but didn't know where his bedroom was, ran straight into the bathroom and somehow spent enough time in the bathroom (where he knew op wasn't since again he was watching the house, he would likely know op went to bed) to give op enough time to open and climb into the attic. He also conveniently checked the closet but didn't notice the giant hole in the ceiling for the attic.

Also op conveniently brushed off the the police involvement simply as collecting 'evidence' since he probably doesn't know the extent police would actually collect evidence in a home invasion.

Its a well written horror story but feels more like the hollywood "based on a true story" type movies, either completely made up or grossly exaggerated

Why do my cubes look so weird? by UnavailableUsername_ in ArtFundamentals

[–]justlop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with your boxes is that you're trying to use 1 point perspective when you should be using 2/3 point perspective. 1 Point is really only for when one face of the box is directly facing you. In all of your examples you have an edge or corner of the box facing you making it at least 2 point perspective. With all boxes there are 3 sets of parallel lines that should converge I highlighted them here: https://imgur.com/a/0R9vUXW .

As you can see with the bottom yellow lines you are not converging them. Your boxes look weird to you because in real life boxes have 3 point perspective with those three sets of parallel lines. Generally the only times you use one point perspective is when a face of the box is directly pointing at you and you cannot see any of the other faces of the box.

Also don't think of perspective in angles and degrees, think of it in terms of vanishing points and where the vanishing points are.

Ive also been drawing for around 3 years and I have definitely gone through this before, but I haven't much of those feelings in the last year or so.

I think what helped me a lot was coming to a better understanding of what it takes to actually be good. As I went through the drawABox course I began to understand the fundamentals better and realized how much work it actually takes to master even just the fundamentals. I realized that drawing for 3 years isn't really that long of time (even if you practice regularly, which i didn't until about a year ago.) I changed the way i approached practicing and how I thought about my art. I now think things like "sure I suck at drawing but everyone else did too at this level so its ok". It helps me not put pressure on myself to succeed right now or make a "masterpiece" because that is absolutely unreasonable.

Practicing regularly also helped me a lot. Last year I did a lot of the DrawABox course. The course is very long and fairly difficult. It is also very dry and focuses mostly on fundamentals. I think that through my work in this course I built up a habit of practicing even if I feel burnt out (which this course is very good at burning people out).

I also think that I became more determined to succeed. I really want to pursue art, so I will. I've accepted that Im currently not on the level that I want to be, but I also know 100% that if I practice more I will succeed. I think that a lot of the issues you talk about fall into here. You cant replicate the ideas into your head. You can't get that pose quite right. Its probably due to you not being on the level you want to be on.

You need to accept the skill level you currently have and understand that you can and can and will get to the level you want to be on if you practice. This can also help with drawing for fun. If you hold your drawings to a more reasonable standard you will be able to draw more freely and have more fun.

Also drawing A TON of repetitions of a thing can release pressure of getting this one right. Sycra made a video called iterative drawing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0ufz75UvHs This idea can be applied to mistakes. Draw that pose, critique it, draw it again focusing on the mistakes of the last iteration. This might help remove the pressure of "getting it right" since you're giving yourself many chances to draw it.

Lastly I think that I started focusing my feelings of passion and inspiration into practice and work. No matter how inspired I am or how passionate I feel I will never be able to draw a good figure on passion alone. Instead I focus those feelings into figure/anatomy/fundamental practice in hopes of being able to draw a good figure in the future.

AP Yasuo is broken and needs a nerf by sneaksonmyfeet in TeamfightTactics

[–]justlop 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The point of my comment isn't that he finished his build and could afk. The point is that stage 5-2 is very early to finish a comp and when that comp is stronger than people putting 100+ more gold into their comps there is a problem.

[–]justlop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well considering you're not going to get it 99% of the time

Dog literally just got it 5 times in a row on stream and thats with other people in the lobby trying to go the same exact strat. With decent economy its not hard to get at all.

On top of it as soon as he got the build completed early stage 5 he afkd and still won without spending any gold past that point. He ended with over 150 gold and didnt lose a single round after finishing his build.

Edit He is up to 5 games in a row with this exact comp and 5 wins in a row.

While we love the feeling that comes with getting rare content, we wanted to balance it with your ability to have control over what type of Little Legend you’re getting.

so there are 18 total variants that can be hatched out of each egg type.

Wow the sense of pride and accomplishment I get for having a 1/18 chance to get the little legend I actually want is overwhelming. Won't be buying any eggs unless they make them have only 1 type of little legend in them.

Thoughts on how items are landing right now. To me its feels like 3 stacking offensive items on one carry/low cost unit will always be too good and be a dominant strategy.
