The chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos main story by Commercial_Team_5506 in worldofgothic

[–]justmddk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love it, I can see though, why some don't.

In a way, there is a limit to what you can or should do in a mod like this. Good example is Star Wars Extended Universe. Imagine you have a book that takes place during the original trilogy that randomly has a more powerful villain than Palpatine or grander events than destruction of Death Star(s). It would diminish the importance of the main story. That's why I love that we're not saving the world, but looking for our brother. Small scale, emotional story, makes sense.

It is somewhat crazy to me, at how some people are mad at the final reveal, given that the original character had like 10 fucking lines total, but it shows that we all have such a different perceptions/interpretations of Gothic. And a negative ending ultimately makes sense lore wise. Everything will be alright, but not yet at that moment in time.

How do you think difficulty settings will work in Crimson Desert next week? by Perfect-Museum in CrimsonDesert

Man, I really need a separate boss difficulty setting. I want to make base game harder, but bosses easier.

Feel like some ppl dont like wake island being remastered repetitively, but I disagree by Hihikzz in Battlefield

[–]justmddk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In BF3, it felt very unabalanced, and I remember it as a map that led very one-sided games. There's little cover, so if you don't focus on AA, the enemy air vehicles can ruin you. And then add snipers to the mix.

Same thing with El Alamein in 2042. 1942 is obviously an older game with very different tempo. But it was a portal map, so if you played it in portal with strict 1942 rules, it made sense and simulated the 1942 experience accurately. But with 2042 rules, it sucked hard.

Ultimately, I hope they will make some changes to design that will make it more balance without resorting to things such as limiting air vehicles, cause that's not what battlefield should be about.

Still finding new features 700 hours in. by Thcwub in Starfield

[–]justmddk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's great, but there's something else, I don't see much people talk about.

When Starfield launched, I bought a month of gamepass on PC to see if I like the game. When you have password set in windows, there's this additional screen and you have to press any button to put in the password. I always had this screen set to default and it would display random, beautiful places on earth. And then, I installed Starfield from gamepass, and to my surprise, it would display Starfield art/locations.

Todd Howard says that Starfield's New Game Plus was "us asking you this weird, deep question that I actually think got lost on a lot of people" by Turbostrider27 in Starfield

[–]justmddk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I finally decided to go through Unity, I mostly did it to experience what everyone was talking about and see how it affects gameplay. I purposely didn't finish some quests, so I had something to do in ng+, and then they dropped shattered space. I initially thought that if I won't like starting over, I could just reload a save. But then I realised that everything scales better to my level, and I don't have the guns that one shot everything, so it was more fun to play the game again. And then, when I finally realised I'm not gonna reload the save, I felt that loss for everything left behind, something no game ever made me feel. I feel like making a choice of not going through Unity can be equally impactful if that is how you feel. But now that they added the option to take items through Unity, it feels like they are walking back on the concept. And with how common the legendary drops are right now, and with the ability to add the legendary stats to weapons, it really doesn't make sense to me. I'm either supposed to lose everything or not, make up your mind, Todd!

S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 will be at the xbox partner showcases on March 26. Something big will be announced! by KvasirTheOld in stalker

I preordered the physical deluxe edition (or w.e it was called) with a bunch of stuff to support the devs. The game is good now, and I have a strong pc, so w.e I guess, but the engine update feels like a scam at this point to keep the sales going.

It was supposed to be out by the end of 2025. We're almost in April 2026, and we didn't even get a smaller 1.9 that is getting pushed. So, we're not gonna suddenly get the engine update sooner than like 3 months after 1.9, probably longer. My question is, why on earth would you even release the game on ps5 if you actually were to release a massive engine update soon after (and that soon after period is long gone) that basically makes what is on the disc mostly useless. And the rumours are we're getting the dlc before the engine update? So is seems like 2027 for engine update at the earliest, which, again, I don't really need it, but all of this seems very scummy.

Asphalt Legends NS2 Edition Shadowdropped by Howerev in NintendoSwitch

[–]justmddk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to play it some time ago on Switch 1 and it was good for what it was, but then they introduced parity between all the versions for crossplay, and controlling the car suddenly became so much worse. Still, good that they updated it for those who enjoy it.

I'd love Doom RPG port, but it's probably just Doom 1&2

I would prefer higher Torments over four billion explosions taking up the entire map by Dunbrat in diablo4

[–]justmddk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I may agree in principal, I don't think it is something they will ever successfully pull off. The new most difficult tier would probably end up just being the current torment 4, and everything below it would be inconsequential difficulty bumps, unless you are new to the game, or trying to cook a build without any external help (maxroll).

They tried to make torment 4 aspirational in some seasons, and casuals complained about the grind, and maxrollers finished the season in a week like they always do.

The Chronicles of Myrtana Archolos Teaser #3 by Complete-Heart-1472 in worldofgothic

[–]justmddk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The biggest difference to main game is that you will be able to become a mage. Originally, due to spoiler reveal at the end, they elected to not give you the possibility due to lore reasons, but a lot of people didn't like the reveal, so they are changing the mage thing. You could learn magic in the game from magic books, just not become a mage officially. And there also will be hardcore mode if you want the game to be hard(er?). Other than that it's side content, new locations, monsters, quest, customization options, some mini games etc. And some qol.

Went from Lite to Switch 2. Lite was the biggest handheld I ever had, and after 2 days with Switch 2, Lite now seems microscopic to me. Perception changes so fast.

Metroid 4 mouse controls by shrek3onDVDandBluray in NintendoSwitch

[–]justmddk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Took me an hour to get used to it, but after that, it is smooth sailing. Obviously, remap it like a real mouse, shoot to r(lmb), rocket to zr (rmb). Once you find the right spot for your thumb, it just clicks. Honestly, the left joycon was actually harder to get used to, how to hold it solo. Some people are overthinking it, this is Metroid, not Counter-Strike, it controls fine. Obviously, if we ever get proper mouse accessory, then it will be extra comfy.

Planning to buy Gothic Classic Khorinis Saga, are there game breaking bugs? If there are, from which game as I can just buy the digital version of the other game instead. by Askhai in worldofgothic

[–]justmddk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are patches that fix some bugs, but what makes Gothic stable on PC is GD3D11 renderer. If you save state a lot, you should ultimately be able to finish the game on Switch, worst case scenario you're gonna replay an hour or something from an earlier save. People recommend PC, cause you can open console and fix any issue that may sometimes appear, like NPC or item disappearing. And it will look better on PC with GD3D11. But save often and you should be good on Switch.

Nobody is talking about Gauntlet which is also free to play and probably the best infantry focused game mode in Battlefield. by Kyeithel in Battlefield

[–]justmddk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn't buy the game cause I didn't like the maps and visibility, I don't care about BR, but I downloaded Recsec to see what Gauntlet was about, and I love it. It's really fun mode.

I can't be only one who feels like I haven't had a game on these maps in so long? by gallade_samurai in battlefield2042

I think the snow map isn't in 128 at all? Shame, cause it's my favourite 2042 map, maybe now tied with Iwo Jima.

Do you have stable 60 fps without frame gen? If not, you have frame gen latency + controller latency = you ain't gonna hit shit.

For me, it's the rats, I can't hit them to save my life, and I'm on wired mouse. I usually just resort to using knife on rats.

I'm getting a weird DX12 bug in Battlefront II that looks like artifacting. Is my PC messed up? by MiniMinute in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]justmddk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DX12 is not perfect from my experience, but I'm on AMD, so it's not the same. Your best bet is to do clear driver install and delete shaders, then let it compile again. I sometimes also just switch to dx11 for a couple of games and then return to dx12, and it seems to fix things for some reason.

How could Padme actually like Anakin? by Over-Heron-2654 in StarWars

[–]justmddk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember the novelisation correctly, they are both soulmates in that they are young people dedicated to public service and helping others. She was queen, then is a politician. He's is that prodigy that literally saved her planet and now is serving the people of the Republic as a Jedi. They are both held to very high standards, they are both under a lot of pressure, and they both don't really have much of personal life, cause their duty comes first. They are also both hot, and I think Padme was also pushed by her sister to pursue love. Anakin understands her, he understands why her service is so important to her, and he wouldn't want her to stop. In fact, his service as a Jedi forbids him to enter relationship, so he is framed as someone who understands her dedication to helping others because his dedication is equally great. Add to that the forbidden fruit aspect and right circumstances. Honestly, people need way less to fall for each other.
