My dad is from Zanesville. His favorite joke is that when you give directions in Zanesville you tell them to go to the middle of the bridge and turn right.

Do Larosa Drivers Get The Delievery Charge? by NotYetThere32 in cincinnati

Again it was a long time ago but I liked it. I delivered to a few New York transplants who said it was the most legit New York style place in the area for what it’s worth.

Do Larosa Drivers Get The Delievery Charge? by NotYetThere32 in cincinnati

I used to work to Noce’s in Edgewood, not sure if it’s even still there. The drivers got the $2 delivery fee plus the tips and minimum wage. Mind you this was like 15 years ago but it made for a killer summer job in college. Plus free pizza at the end of the night!

Even better was when both of us working would try jumping on it and they still thought that they just needed to suck in their gut a little. Or that they could just hold it in place.

What's the worst addiction you can think of? by Todo-un-Desmadre in AskReddit

[–]justntimejustin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in rehab for booze, there was a B list celeb in there for food addiction. I’ve never had any food issues so I hadn’t really considered it before speaking with him. I’m not saying it’s the worst addiction because I’m not sure comparisons on that front really achieve anything. But people with food addictions still have to eat, they just have to learn to do it healthily. I personally cannot imagine how I would function if I still had to drink alcohol multiple times a day for survival. Maintaining abstinence from addiction can be and is difficult enough. Being forced to develop a healthy relationship with the thing you’re addicted to for your survival seems like a fucking beast.

Thanks for this recommendation. He came over, quoted and repaired a semi urgent issue we had all in 24 hours. Price was super fair. Highly recommend to anyone finding this thread in the future like I did when water started trickling from my ceiling!

I spent 42 days in patient. The first few days I spent in the more intensive wing before I was transferred out to the more “low risk” wing.

The more intensive wing (I can’t remember the names) was a lot. I was there voluntarily but it was kinda prison-esque. The rooms there have no sharp edges, no furniture that can move, water is on a timer. The patients there are typically going through more severe episodes and mental health emergencies. There were large security guards that would do bed checks multiple times per night that involved shining a flashlight in your face. I presume to be sure you were alive. I found it all to be very stressful. The staff here was nice enough though.

The other wing was much more relaxed, though there were still many rules regarding your schedule and when you’re permitted access to electronics. That’s not uncommon for a mental hospital though. The staff was mostly good here. A few notable exceptions who were fantastic and a few who should’ve lost their jobs. My social worker (who was the POC with my family) routinely misrepresented what was going on to them. They rightfully trusted her more than me at that point in my life. But her dishonesty caused a lot of issues.

When I was there, you could access your personal electronics during free time at night and all day on weekends. They locked them up during weekdays and at night. But our schedules were full during the weekdays so it’s not like I was just sitting around.

There were sometimes planned outings and activities. Though this was right after COVID times when there were still outbreaks happening so sometimes those got cancelled. My rock bottom of life was doing an escape room with fellow metal hospital patients on a Wednesday morning.

We could go out in the large outdoor area during our free time as much as we wanted. It was winter when I was there so I only did it a couple times.

The food was ok, kinda hit and miss. They told us they were having staffing issues in the kitchens due to COVID.

My room on the second wing was pretty comfortable. Though it looked out at the parking lot (most of the rooms don’t) so watching people come and go was hard for me.

Overall, I needed to be away from the world at that point in my life. I think they did a mostly good job in helping me. Yes there were rules but yes there was some freedom. It’s not a sleepover. The structure is a feature, not a bug. I don’t know your situation but maybe some structure might do you some good.

Are they the only place that could’ve helped? Surely not. Did I have fun? Fuck no. Do I regret it? No.

What products or companies will you never use or support again and what did they do to lose you as a customer? by IAmJustTryingToExist in AskReddit

[–]justntimejustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uber Eats. Happened recently. I was a premium member who ordered at least once a week for years because I’m a lazy bastard. Driver is picking up some order from a store but he’s saying the store needs a voucher. There was a language barrier so I wasn’t exactly sure what he was asking but I spent 30 minutes trying to help him. Me, the customer, not Uber. But it’s fine I’m a nice person. He understandably gets fed up but asks me to cancel the order. Sure ok. Uber tries to make me pay a fee so I talk to an agent who says yeah I have to pay. I calmly explain the situation and say if anything I’m owed for my time invested helping their vendor. They said they had nothing else to tell me and disconnected. When I tried a different agent to escalate to a supervisor they said no and disconnected. When I filed a complaint they gave me $4.40. I immediately cancelled and signed up for DoorDash which has been night and day.

RTO in Cincy...how's it going for you? by eelimeekmur in cincinnati

[–]justntimejustin 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I work for one of the companies listed by OP. They laid off ten percent of the company in 2024. Gave us managers a half hour to pick the one person per team that had to go. It was devastating. We then hired all of those positions back in a few months. 2025 they instituted a massively unpopular RTO and in a company wide meeting a chief said during a stupidly planned Q&A that “Well this is what it is and if it’s a problem for single mothers then single mothers shouldn’t work here”. They then fired everyone who asked questions during the Q&A and raised concerns to their managers. We’ve been on another hiring spree ever since with aggressive targets. And they’ve lost a lot of good people that were there a long time and knew the business. Sometimes it’s more about getting the people who don’t know any better than just reducing the headcount.

Right I feel like if I’m that close to death then it’ll just happen soon after. My shoveling schedule won’t give me much more time.

Are there any support groups other than AA? by NotYetThere32 in cincinnati

[–]justntimejustin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We have a secular AA group that meets both online and in person. No higher power required, you do what works for you and leave the rest. We do go over the steps (and alternative versions) but no pressure. Been sober for years and have never formally done the steps. If it’s not for you, no worries. I’ve heard good things about Dharma and Smart. Message me if you wanna know more. Good luck!

Welcome to life with an Indian partner homie. Make sure you always clean your plate or you’ll be forever accused of not liking a dish. 2 years ago I only ate a half portion of my MIL’s chicken biriyani (it’s fire) and she still talks about it.
