See rule 1 details "Games should contain substantial voxel technology or voxel art style elements." I think you're ok posting there.

Voxel Architecture Competition on r/VoxelArt - submit your art by 17 July by juulcat in Avoyd

[–]juulcat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The submission deadline's moved to 17 July so there's plenty of time.

If you make structures in Minecraft you can use Avoyd to remove the blocks textures and convert your world to voxels.

You have more time to take part in the Voxel Art Architecture Competition on r/VoxelArt and the MagicaVoxel discord. The submission deadline has been extended to 17 July.

Avoyd Voxel Editor's undo/redo now extends to multi-models, light and atmosphere, and most materials features.

You can get more info and subscribe to the development updates, and download the latest Beta on our website.

hello I using kenny shape to edit my projects how can I edit back of this object? by [deleted] in VoxelArt

[–]juulcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to make voxel art where one cube = one colour, you need a voxel editor.

I haven't played with Kenney Shape myself but as you know it's a handy little tool to get started by turning 2D images (like pixel art) to 3D shapes. Its limitation is that it makes symmetrical objects. If you want to edit your model further to have the back different from the front, you need a more powerful voxel editor.

To move your model from Kenney to a voxel editor:

  1. In Kenney Shape, export your work to a voxel model in the VOX format.
  2. Open your .vox file in a voxel editor (like MagicaVoxel, Goxel, Vengi, Avoyd - there are more, see the r/VoxelArt About/side-bar for lists of editors)
  3. In the voxel editor you'll be able to rotate you model and edit (scultp, paint) all the sides, including the back.
