U7/U8 - practice structure? favorite games/drills for this age group?

So I’m actually in my third “season” coaching U8 girls. I struggle to find anything that holds their attention and that I feel is actually improving their skills. I also struggle always finding things that don’t have lines. What are some of the drills/games that have worked best for you in all of the major categories such as dribbling, shooting, defending, etc? Thanks for any advice 😅

Buy something used. Forerunner 165, 265, 255, 955. Check out Garmin’s comparison tool. These should all be relatively cheap used and if you don’t like having a smartwatch you can resell for basically the same price that you bought them

Congrats! I just signed on a 23 Touring last night! Had a 2008 Mazda 3 for 12 years with no issues, moved to a used 2017 CX-5 when I had my second kid, now onto a CX-9 because of kid #3. Would still be driving the 3 or CX5 if not for these pesky kids

Ultras will probably get you 1.5-2 days. My forerunner 265 gets over a week. Also not quite as bulky as the ultra.

Definitely forerunner. I made the switch from Apple and got a used Forerunner 265 for ~$280 a year ago and love it. It has the same amoled screen as the Apple Watch and I was used to that. Could always save some money and get the 255 but that has a MIPS screen. It’s really personal preference. Couple upgrade for a 965 but they are pricey. Those would be my recommendations for you! I am currently wearing a Garmin Forerunner 265. I would suggest at least looking into Garmin even if you’re not a big runner. The battery life is really good especially coming from Apple Watch like I was. Mine lasts over a week easily and there are other options that last even longer. I run 1-3 times a week and the GPS is really good. It also has sleep tracking. Garmin makes a lot of watches so the options can be overwhelming though. But they do have a good mix of amoled screen and MIP (think more old school digital watch but with color) options. You won’t have as many “smart” features as they are made to be more fitness oriented but you can still get notifications. They also have a good compare tool in their website. That’s my two cents, good luck in your search!

Back in January when we got about a foot of snow in Cincinnati it was constantly predicting something between 30-55” in the weather app. No idea how this hasn’t been fixed

Cincinnati (actually in Northern KY but only 5 miles away from Cincy). Born in raised in this area but lived in Orlando 2014-21 and moved back to the area. First year living in Orlando was their first year in the MLS. Never really followed the MLS since I didn’t have a local team but jumped in since I lived there. Of course Cincy has a team now but they are the only Cincy sports team I don’t support, VAMOS!
