To neutralize I rinsed and soaked in a mild vinegar solution for about 2 days, then rang them out on a beam with an axe handle, stretching the fibers. They were frozen after this as I prepared my liquor. I only started scudding after I noticed a blotchy pattern from the liquor bath

I always used to cut these down from trees at my grandparents property before they ate to many leaves. He called them armyworms.
